Rye J LOL, it's (still) like watching children play, though... That second goal by Japan, Netherlands standing around in their box - waiting for 'em to score... Then, that kick, the Japanese player shoots to the right of the defender and she's putting the leg out to her left side... Totally clueless, LMAO. xD *Edit*: So much effort, running... *CRAZY* fouls, which the refs don't even acknowledge - most of the time - how much would it suck for a woman to have torn ligaments, never to be able to walk on heels (for the rest of her life); & for what, meh. (I cringe, it's cringe-worthy, watching them play - for a wide variety of reasons :))

I'm a fan of both teams but my favorite one is definitely Japan so I'm really glad they reached the next round. However that mistake at the end of the game was a bit embarrassing ^^ Hopefully they make it into the semifinals and next time I want to see the Dutch team coming to the quarterfinals too.
@kgb15889 жыл бұрын
Infernustyle Haha, "a bit embarrassing" is a (BIG, lol) understatement... HOW *lucky* were they (Japan), not to equalize on themselves earlier - that one corner /cross (ugh, what was it, in the second half) that their player kicked straight at the goal keeper (and *HARD*, roftlmao; totally out of control, by accident). I honestly don't understand how they don't have broken legs /bones /faces at the end of each game... It's *very* fortunate! LOL. xD *Edit*: Oh my goodness, I'm on the floor... Just watched it again (& it hurts). Japan goalie forgot to use her hands. :DD P.S. That final miss, by Netherlands - she wound up, as if she's about to blow a hole in the net & then, just, missed the ball (almost completely, LOL), bounced it off the Japanese defender... Hand-balled it & then stopped - as *IF* anyone was going to see it... By the time she realized that NOBODY was going to see it /call it and decided to play on: we all had a sandwich and a coffee. :DD

After watching the match and seeing the replay several times, I don't think it's a case of "butter fingers" as many are mentioning. It seems the keeper was trying to chest the ball down rather than playing it safe and just catching it. Don't take unnecessary risks! I'm sure the keeper will bounce back in the next game. The next hurdle to jump is Australia. Best of luck!

I am Dutch and proud of the Dutch Women. Not the best of play maybe, but they did well for there first time on a WC. Please could someone enlighten me here. Please explain how that Netherland's goal can be anything other than match fixing. It's so blatant it's beyond embarrassing. I mean, goalkeepers in women's football are absolutely horrendous at the best of times but this is a whole new level. She must have gotten paid off by bookies to make sure the Dutch scored a goal or something along those lines. No other explanation makes sense. That is not an error. It's impossible. A 3 year old would stop that. She has deliberately not even tried. My brain absolutely boggles at this.
@monkeymajix9 жыл бұрын
***** Actually you can back pass if it's from a header the goal keeper can use their hands.

+arsenal rsl even if it was a header pass back she was allowed to pick it up, there's no explanation for that goal

Ross van Wyk Well, it looks like the ball has some side spin after the header and takes a somewhat surprising bounce to the left off the ground as a result. It's still a weak goal, but the change in direction seems to have totally surprised her.
