Very questionable calls from the referees, and almost all in favor of Japan. Dangerous, cause patterns like these can easily start casting shadows on the competition. Let's hope this was a one time thing.

It is always like that. The Japanese always win the first place in almost all categories.. They fight the same way since I was there in the 80, no real improvement with the technical strategy. Static position and waiting for gyaku zuki. The Wkf is much better I think.

キャットヘル 顔面有り、寸止めとは言ってますが普通に当ててます。 極真等のフルコンタクトとは違い、伝統空手の流れを組んだ空手なので組手は競技空手ですね。 剣道のような感じです。 フルコンタクトに有る下段攻撃は無いのですが、攻撃の流れからの足払などが有ったりして、別物と思っていただいた方がすっきりします。 フルコンタクトの空手は大山倍達が作り上げた新しい空手で格闘技って感じですね。 こちらのは格闘技ってか、武道という感じです。

スキャバーズ フルコンタクト空手って言われるまではケンカ空手って言われていた時代がありましたからね。 ただどちらも空手ですので両方好きになってくれると嬉しいです。

Extremely biased referee to the point of being embarrasing. The first match clearly should have been given to Chile - fully understand the crowds reaction. The last fights should also have been given to Chile. Also, the way the referee act when giving the points or calling the match - whenever it was given to Japan, movements, postures and energy from the referee were more outgoing and 'proud'. When points were given to Chile he looked like a drenched ragdoll raising his arm in vain. Such shame for the sport..!!

全く違いますね！顔を上段、胸と腹を中段、腰から下を下段として。上段と中段を突いたら1ポイント。中段を蹴ったら2ポイント上段を蹴れば3ポイントといったかんじで細かくポイントが分けられていて、攻撃が出て得点があったと審判が判断する度に試合が止められます

Per vincere un campionato in Giappone, con arbitri giapponesi, devi essere giapponese. Onestamente credo che il Giappone avrebbe vinto lo stesso, ma almeno 2 incontri erano a favore del Cile.

so you think that the referee is biased? BS if there is unfairness the chileans can complain. this Japanese perhaps are not even the best in Japan and even in the JKA. Maybe now, the different Japanese karate style in Japan may be preparing their best for selection to compose the Japan karate team for the 2020 Tokyo Olympic. The Okinawan karate styles(including shotokan), Kyukushin, and perhaps other self styled karate organization in Japan will contribute their best karatekas for Nippon.
