This has to be one of the best demos I have watched so far. The colours on the JVC looked pushed. There is no contest in the water scenes. True blue vs green water. I'm lost for words. I have been to Fiji, the water there is blue as blue can get. There will always be die hard JVC fans (especially those who folked out $$KK on their JVC projector) but to my eyes the Xiaomi won on many many sceneries. Wished you could have calibrated both projectors (Perhaps already so on the JVC). But that Xiaomi straight out the box looks stunning. I'm buying one!!! One of my favourite demo videos is Samsung's 4K Demo: Around the World video. Wished you could have done a run with that video in this face off. Anyways a great demo. I have subscribed.

very helpful comparison, many thanks for sharing. I am using an Xgimi Lune 4K which I assume has very performance to your Xiaomi (however mine has the light border problem). overall I am happy with the Lune4K except for its contrast - black is at most greyish...not sure if the Xiaomi is any better, and from your video, the JVC appears to be significantly better in terms of contrast and black level. cheers

thx nikos very interesting video, the Mijia combined to a vividstorm compared to 6000€ projector don't need to blush.

Alr screen provides more contrast. To see the real difference we need to use a white wall. Thanks for the video

I have searched the internet high and low, looking for a comparison between a long throw and UST projector. THIS is the 1st! I thank you for this data point. I wonder if you have another comparison in mind? Would love to see the UST Projector of the Year (Hisense L9g) Vs the entry level JVC or Sony Laser Long throw projector.

Hi, first of all I wanted to thank you for the video. I am interested in the Xiaomi 4k 1s but I have read opinions regarding the refresh rate blocked at 60hz which, according to some (even reviewers), causes the unpleasant judder effects. Taking into account that I would mainly use it to watch Netflix and other streaming services in 4k (which I don't know if they are natively 60hz as netflix indicates this as a requirement for 4k), I wanted to ask you if this is a problem for you or not. I hope you can give me your opinion. Thank you

Hello, all the 4K DLP projectors are playing ONLY at 60Hz. If you want to know why, just read my artcle for XPR module www.projectorjunkies.com/4k-dlp-projectors-is-it-real-4k-xpr-technology-explanation/

Was the JVC used with the same CLR screen or another? If the comparison was shooted on a white screen the Xiaomi and all other DLP ust had no chance against the JVC but when use the CLR screen for ust than was another discussion. Because the screen take most effect by the ust projectorse

JVC clearly had the accurate colors, you should have compared it with xiaomi latest model xiaomi 4k 1s laser tv

@@projectorjunkies4152 than i am surprised because xiaomis strength was on natural and accurate colors but in this case it did not seem like :(

@@projectorjunkies4152 Nice Comparison. Not many have access to both with ALR screens. Were they both calibrated? The 1S looked a little on the blue/cold side like it is by default.

Jvc excels in dark scenes . You better play some dark scenes

You are comparing units out of the box, with now calibration which is completely pointless. Just look at min 1:14 and tell me, is the watter suppose to look green or blue? The only thing that can be seen here regardless of the lack calibration is the difference in contrast. On JVC images have specular highlights with stong black levels. On Xiaomi well, it looks fine, it's a good projector but it has no where near the contrast of the JVC.

🤣🤣 From memory water looks distinctively blue on my planet.

@@yogi9631 the colors of the water filmed from above can vary significantly depending on the waterplants and corlas that live there
@yogi9631 Жыл бұрын
@@georgepopescu1327 I fully agree with that. There are also several other factors that can make water colours looking greenish/not quite blue etc. However in normal warm tropical coral waters, waters are blue as blue can be especially underwater scenes. From that scene you mentioned it seems very obvious that something is not very right with the water colours of the JVC OR Xiaomi units. Perhaps the best way to resolve this projector challenge is to add a 3rd reference screen to depict what is the correct colour display. The JVC's in general are very fine projectors however in this particular demo the colours are too saturated/overblown etc. The skin tones are too warm and the greens just don't look right. Just not natural (too much push) especially @2:37sec and several other green sceneries shots. Would have loved to have the same signal feeding through perhaps the good old mighty Pioneer Kuro Plasma TV in the room in this shoot out challenge.
@georgepopescu1327 Жыл бұрын
@@yogi9631 you don't need a certified ISF screen in order to check colors, you just need to run a basic 709 calibration with something like Idisplay pro or Spyder X. Showing side by side two uncalibrated projectors is completely useless not to say straight up missleading
