Someone rightly said, Japan has been living in the year 2000 for the last 40 years

1:34-1:48 That guy hit the nail on the head. It took about another decade for this trend to reach the United States.

It's crazy how it took Boston Dynamics to catch up for almost a decade. If the deflation in Japan hadn't continued the world would look completely different.

I'd imagine an alternate timeline where Japan was THE technological world superpower and not the US... The Internet itself would look different, we would all be using Japan's mixi over Facebook and such

Wow, this was all in 2001? This is all about IoT too, which if I'm not mistaken was only popularized here in America by Amazon in the past decade or so. Ahead of their time, they were.

Both that tech guy as well as the harajuku people both being consigned about the future where everyone will be living in their own bubble online, and don’t meet other persons irl…that did age quite well…

I remember hearing about iMode data and wireless NFC payments, biometrics and camera phones from a Japanese exchange student here in canada back in 2002.. it was the future! I was/am blown away at how far we have come in such a small period.

Japan is big in technology but that comes with a cost like most things The damage in the social fabric and the highest suicidal rates . The west is going the same path. But in it's own way with politics division and lies spreading in the net it is a downfall and a fast one
