What is the gadget you used to punch a hole in the coin?
@coinry18 күн бұрын
@@lauriecraig2760 It’s called, “Big Self Centering Coin Ring Hole Punch Set, No Spacers 1/4 to 3/4”, at least on eBay. You could also search for coin ring punch on Ebay and see the different styles. It’s pretty handy when making rings from non-US coins or coins with a little wear on them. Also the different punch sizes are nice for doing smaller or larger coin rings.

What is the purpose of repeatedly annealing it?
@coinry4 ай бұрын
It's to keep the metal soft enough to work with after work hardening. Some of the older coins tend to crack, but I do tend to be a little more cautious in the videos.

Where did you find the press with the mandrel
@coinry8 ай бұрын
I got my ring sizer mandrel from a local jewelry shop, it was an extra, kind of an older one but works well. Most of my other tools I got off eBay, Mike Still Tools I believe is who I got most of them from. Arbor press from eBay as well.
