this song is criminally underrated.............. this is probably my favorite song of all time and has been since I first heard it in 2017

Autotune fits perfectly in this track. Sounds fucking great and fits the theme. That's how it's done!
@chriswatson81997 жыл бұрын
Pretty sure the autotune was done to match the song's theme which is about falling in love with a robot. Didn't hear any autotune on the rest of their new stuff when they played live, so cool your jets folks
@boglin7 жыл бұрын
saw them open for alex g last night, she said this song was supposed to be "robot sexy" lmao
@fridaballard87697 жыл бұрын
Chris Watson yeah in an interview that I saw, this new album she envisioned as sci-if sort of record. machinist was the first song, but none of the rest really followed the same theme, so it kind of stands out from the rest
Autotune/vocal effects are awesome if used right, am not talking about pitch correction when acts sing live, there's a difference imo
@damnthatsfr547511 ай бұрын
I know this is 6 years old and ik you aren't but people who care about artists using autotune are annoying and I completely agree with the comment above, this song would not sound nearly as good as it does without autotune imo
@dane2797 жыл бұрын
Love the cyberpunk / anime vibe. I'm glad to see bands take chances and not stick to one formula. For the people complaining about the vocoder effect, the other new songs don't use it.
@snowytundra17224 жыл бұрын
I will never understand why this song didn't catch on. It's still amazing.
@melody37416 жыл бұрын
Vocoder is not autotuning. Also, when an artist plays a keyboard, the software tunes the note perfectly. This is acceptable. Yet somehow using your voice as an instrument that isnt fair or whatever? Music is about more than how difficult it is to execute no matter who you are. And i would argue that the difficulty to play music is absolutely completely and totally irrelevant to its validity as music and whether it sounds good or not

To the commenters complaining that they can't find the official lyrics because "they exist nowhere", buy the record...the lyrics for every song are in the liner notes. Here they are for this song in the meantime. I don't know how it happened Was it always this way, and I just couldn't see it? Heart burning hot enough for the both of us I never realized how much you were holding back All the times I felt so plugged in You were tuning out A muted channel, a cold shell, a hologram, an abyss... How can I fight a kingdom of your demons? A mist, so palpable You can't have it all Her and all the pleasure A woman can give [woman]-Do you trust me? Can you feel it? [machine]-Total control, can't let go [woman]-It could be bliss [machine]-Machinist Can't speak, you wanted it all Let go a piece of your heart, all the pleasure it gives Leave me lost in the night Shadows go in and go by I just wanted it all Here's to the night! A lullaby a creepin' A song, to win your love See me at all? Through all of your aggressors The true one Can't speak, you wanted it all Let go a piece of your heart, all the pleasure it gives Leave me lost in the night Shadows go in and go by I just wanted it all

Total Control Can't Let Go It could be bliss Machinist Can't speak You wanted it all Let go a piece of your heart All the pleasure gets Leave me lost in the night Shadow, you're running by I just wanted it all Here's to the night A lullaby a creepin' A song to win your love See me at all? I was definitely surprised when they played this live, but the drastic new sound does fit with the video! And if you're not quite feeling it, they played a few other new tracks and they are closer to the "usual" Japanese Breakfast sound, from what I could gather.
