Looks delicious! the salad looks like a chunky yamagata dashi :) I think the soup would be great on a hot day with shio kambu instead of wakame, just add just before serving (and omit the salt in the end). I used to make many side dishes, but simply don't have the time and energy for it nowadays with a family. I do try to add many different veggies though, preferrably in many different colours.

If I wake up at 5.25 and really rush then I can only be in time at work if I rush cooking the rice and miso soup, eating and cleaning because stupid rice takes total 22 minutes to make already + washing a'd bringing to cook. And I'm not going to wake up even sooner and have even less sleep just so I can eat this elaborate.

Is there anything you or your husband (or even further afield) really hate food wise that is considered a Japanese staple? I see a lot of seaweed used in Japanese cooking, are there Japanese people who hate the stuff? I was trying to think of a British equivalent but all I can think of is eggs which seemingly a lot of people like to eat, I however hate them.

I like the asmr, but don't inconvenience yourself. You're mother not single person, perfectly normal for not be able to get the quiet for filming.
