Just wanted to share something. My boyfriend was playing vidio games, and I was sitting next to him watching KZbin. Your visio gets played next and he tells me: "Ooooh, is it the sweet Japanese lady? Turn it up! I wanna hear what she is making!". He has never watch more then small peaces of your vidios, but he recognice your voice - and he likes that you make me want to cook new things! Miwa San! I never thought of putting myoga with こんぶ and きゅり! I am going to make it for my mom along with the soup, I think she will love it! My kids love onigiri too (especially in their bento!) Your voice is so soothing and goes well with the asmr, but I love hearing your boys in the background too, I think it’s because I’m used to hearing my girls while I am cooking! I hope to one day be able to have your knife skills, so amazing!

Looks delicious! the salad looks like a chunky yamagata dashi :) I think the soup would be great on a hot day with shio kambu instead of wakame, just add just before serving (and omit the salt in the end). I used to make many side dishes, but simply don't have the time and energy for it nowadays with a family. I do try to add many different veggies though, preferrably in many different colours.

Thank you for your comment!! You can omit myoga! It's still be flavor full with ginger. OR you can add more fresh herbs like Italian parsley would be great!^^ Please add more water or soup stock as a substitute of rice wine!

Hi Miwa-san…..another wonderful video. I love your salad and I will make it tonight….but will leave out the eggplant lol. I have a confession lol…I simply cannot make the triangle shape onigiri. Mine always become oval and no matter how many times I try, the triangle shape just doesn’t happen 😂 triangle shape is so much more eye pleasing. The ASMR was a nice change since it's so rare you get to do so. The boys sounded like they were having a good time too. It's *very* slowly shifting to something fall-like over here. Not quite soup weather just yet.

The ASMR is nice, but I also find just your voice very soothing, so it's good either way! You know what's funny. I used to watch the american dubbed version of Pokemon when I was a kid and they used to refer to Oniguri as jelly doughnuts because American kids didn't know what Oniguri was.

A shame most can not or will not eat like this. Families needing both parents working or single ladies and gents not getting together. I've tried to eat like this and it is very time consuming. Granted some, like the prepared vegetables, can be made ahead of time. But not everything.

If I wake up at 5.25 and really rush then I can only be in time at work if I rush cooking the rice and miso soup, eating and cleaning because stupid rice takes total 22 minutes to make already + washing a'd bringing to cook. And I'm not going to wake up even sooner and have even less sleep just so I can eat this elaborate.

Is there anything you or your husband (or even further afield) really hate food wise that is considered a Japanese staple? I see a lot of seaweed used in Japanese cooking, are there Japanese people who hate the stuff? I was trying to think of a British equivalent but all I can think of is eggs which seemingly a lot of people like to eat, I however hate them.
