It's definitely one of the cooler (and I suppose more effective) advertisement series in my opinion. I'd definitely look at SoftBank first if I were to choose a service provider in Japan. Here in Sweden we have a company doing a similar thing, also an ISP/phone/TV provider, albeit they have two stocky red-haired ladies rather than a cute dog. They're pretty cool too though.
