I'm finally going back to Japan this month after 6 years but I gotta admit that it is actually really difficult to watch these commercials in Japanese TV unless I watch the tv 24/7! Some of the ads here are not seen on their commercial terebi stations at all. Maybe it's due to censorship limitations. (But the Softbank ad was permitted, and was aired rather frequently owing to the No Pants phenomenon in Japanese rap music).

Does anyone feel like american commercials are more informative, japanese commercials are more weird? I actually like informative. I do speak japanese so it's not a language barrier thing, but the commercials here don't actually tell me why I should patronize them.
