I lived in Japan for a year and I came across a few public drinking fountains that with a quarter turn would shoot up three meters or more into the air. Nobody came out with a camera to tell me it was a prank or ask for my permission to be on a hidden camera show. That shit is real there.

LOL, the Japanese would react even worse on pranks like those. You'd 100% get sued. That's why those TV shows had people agreed to be pranked before hand. They know the pranks were coming, but some don't know what will actually happen. Since they have the agreement from participants, they can do the craziest pranks, but it's totally defeat the purpose of a prank in the first place.
