I love these videos, no distractions from voices, music or other things. I need the silence to get it sometimes!! Thanks!

Looks a lot like the Old Shale pattern, or the more modern term, Feather and Fan pattern.

I can't get the gaps in my knitting. I'm following the guide and using approximate the same size needles and weight yarn, but none of the holes are showing up for me. What am I doing wrong?
@knittingstitchpatterns9 жыл бұрын
+AmandaMarie Adams Hi. Maybe your Yo technique is not correct
@patrick7mary6 жыл бұрын
AmandaMarie, each time you do a yarn over that should create your gap (hole), perhaps you could practice using a thicker yarn and larger needle to practice, stitches should not be too tight too... I am noticing from her video she does not pull yarn but allows yarn to “rest” within its natural state which I think is key to creating more beautiful consistent work. I bought the “Japanese Knitting Stitch Bible” and am just now going to ‘attempt’ learning some of these beautiful patterns. Also, I am trying to learn or ‘decode’ the stitch code so I will be able to knit using the Japanese knit code system. Here is the pattern in written instructions that may help you if you ever want to try this pattern again... I do like her work and I see she is on Pinterest too... Happy Knitting! ^-^ www.knittingstitchpatterns.com/2015/04/japanese-feather-stitch.html

@@patrick7mary Hello I was just wondering how things are going with your learning Japanese Knitting? it is such beautiful knitting from what I have seen.

Peaches Fireside Hi Peaches! Just now see my KZbin Inbox which is so refreshing to check for KZbin replies! To be honest, my Japanese Knitting Bible is resting comfortably on my bookshelf and I am now “obsessed” with knitting tons of scarves using beautiful different stitches and colorful yarns ;). I still WILL knit a beautiful Japanese style scarf though! But now since I stay busy I need to stick with Easy knit stitches so I can take my knitting with me to appointments, etc. I do love the Japanese style but it does take lots of concentration! Lastly, my son married a beautiful gal from Okinawa and when she comes here I will knit her a beautiful Japanese scarf;) She has seen my work and I do love how much she appreciates the beautiful intricate art of our American history of knitting, sewing, quilting, hand works as I do for Japanese history as well🤗💗🤗

Alice Chen Hi. Row 1 and all wrong side rows: K1, * p10, k1; repeat from * to end. It means: Rows 3 - 5 - 7 .... - 27 (As row 1) K1, * p10, k1; repeat from * to end

I know you wrote this comment a long time ago, but I thought I'll reply anyway in case it helps someone out :) You can adjust the speed of the video and make it go slower. INSTRUCTIONS: When you hover the mouse over the video the taskbar appears at the bottom of the video. The 'PLAY' button and 'VOLUME' button are on the left-hand side of the taskbar. While the 'SETTINGS' button is on the right-hand side of the taskbar. The 'SETTINGS' button is the gear icon (circle with 6 spokes coming out of it). Click on the 'SETTINGS' button. A small box will appear above it. The box will show 3 options: ANNOTATIONS, PLAYBACK SPEED, and QUALITY. Click on PLAYBACK SPEED. Another small box will appear with a list of numbers. If you click on a smaller number (0.25, 0.50, 0.75) the video will play slower. If you click on a larger number (1.25, 1.50, 1.75, 2) the video will play faster. If you want the video to play at normal speed again, just go back to PLAYBACK SPEED and click on 'Normal'.
