As a resident of Japan, I was relieved to hear those guys live in Okinawa, they get upset so easily. Your tarantulas are teddy bears in comparison... and I think almost all of the tarantulas I've seen are prettier. Don't get me wrong, these Japanese Funnelwebs are fascinating spiders, but you can tell they evolved in a real rat race environment because they are triggered so easily.

Definitely not the spider for me! WAY to easily aggressive, and FAR too fast for my already fast-beating heart....(no, I don't like spiders, but this channel is fab as a form of therapy. Learn something about them, and they don't seem so scary anymore, and looking at them close-up also helps. Could never do that before. Just close-up video would freak me out. I've said before how I come around on my spider fears when you saved the tarantula (again thanks for that), but funnel webs were my real nightmares. Probably watched to many Australian shows! 😅 I imagined peacefully walking around and a trap door opening, dual fangs ending my life, lol. Your love for spiders is a game changer and I will never look at spiders the same way. Already before this I've managed to not kill a spider in many years. Have a bit of an ant problem in my house (and flies as usual, composting and all) and the spiders keep them in check, so when I see a spider in the bathroom I just think "go and get them!".

I've been so afraid of spiders pretty much my entire life, but I'm slowly starting to see the beauty of them after videos such as yours. I'm from Argentina and now that i remember, when i was a kid there were funnel web spiders that built their webs in holes in the wall. I used to touch its web with a stick and the spider attacked, i don't know if they were funnel webs or not but they looked exactly like the ones in the video, only one little difference their size was between 1 and 1,5 cm.
