These days though, green tea is cropping up more in teabag form and, at least in London, you can find many of these drinks in Asian supermarkets. Love them as they are often not sweet which makes them feel so much more refreshing!

The beautiful Mount Fuji area... the absolute perfect place to produce green tea. Now that is top-quality green tea! And that shot of Fuji in the background with the Shinkansen is quite the Japanese shot. Traveling by bike is the best way to explore places, it's how you really dive into the area and see what it has to offer.

Yes, John. I already switched to pure green tea from coffee years ago for no reason. I just recently found out the enormous amount of benefits it gives to our body, and I am really happy 😃 One thing I noticed, my skin has always been glowing- I am close to my 30's and no wrinkles at all. P.S. I am brewing green tea between 90-100°C for 5-10 mins. 1 -2 cups per day after my last meal.

I’ve been drinking green tea since I was a teenager, I’m now in my mid forties. I never put sweeteners in my tea, I feel that disrespects the tea. Plus it tastes funny. Lol I can’t imagine my life without it! The health benefits are so amazing!

🍵 I hated my first bottled green tea when I arrived in Shinjuku . It was so bitter and unpleasant. Now it's the only type of tea I thoroughly enjoy. The soothing quality of it is irreplaceable. Thanks, John. This has got 'love letter to green tea' written all over the episode. 🍵

Thats weird to me too. The #1 bottled green tea brand in Japan is also sold worldwide and it honestly tastes bitter and bland, also its pee colored. The high quality loose leaf I buy direct from Japanese farmers brews into an almost neon green, and is naturally sweet. Personally I prefer the fresh loose leaf, and still find it weird Japan loves the bottled stuff when they having amazing tea a few miles away.

The more bitter the stronger it is, I hated bitter tea or just tea in general but now I can’t drink those cheap tea bag kind of tea, it’s too bland for me I need it to be very strong
@onlyinjapan

@@__aceofspades they like bottled stuff the same reason why microwaveable food is popular world wide in developed countries - no time, disposable income. I do hope younger Japanese learn about ocha because for many of my friends, they didn’t know how water temperature controls sweetness-bitterness and the variety preparation. Interesting! Also, coffee is just better marketed. We don’t see ocha houses like coffee houses. It’s not cool.

That's so much to learn about tea, it's sophisticated yet elegant. I drink both tea and coffee in a daily basis. Most of the time, I will start the day with a cup of coffee and sipping tea through out the day. I especially like a cup of Matcha right after meal, that's THE best way to finish a meal in my opinion. I didn't expected the ending of the video, but I ENJOYED it very much. Thanks John and Dean!

I remember my 1st trip to Japan, buying a bottle of green tea from the local DonQi. I took one mouthful and was pretty sure I had picked up cooking oil instead of green tea. Never again! However, I now find myself looking on Amazon for some sencha, a proper tea pot, and youtube instructions of how to make it properly. Looking forward to my first real experience, coming from a lifelong coffee addict, it should be fun!. Thanks john & Dean, great to see you collab again.

What stunning footage, you’re lucky you got so many shots of Fuji on a clear day! I’m happy how this turned out, I would love to try more authentic teas like this. I usually drink herbal tea to help combat my anxiety and help me sleep, so it’s interesting to see how the heat can affect the properties. Never was a fan of coffee or black tea though. They’re too strong for me and caffeine can give me headaches. It’s just amazing the amount of detail goes into producing green teas in Japan.

Green tea has always been my secondary to coffee, as in I drink my morning coffee then green tea all day long. Helps me get through my day and in the winter months I squeeze a lemon slice and a few slivers of ginger as an immune boost to help fight off anything coming my way. This is a great video on the different benefits to green tea.

Omg! That ending part 🤣😂.. I was not expecting that!!! Thanks for the new video John, I always like to learn new things around Japan. I love coffee and tea, with my tea I’m trying to get use to it drinking them without sugar. For coffee it has to be a latte, the milk and sugar helps my stomach and my brain to keep going during the night. I work at a hospital, so drinking coffee is a must! Specially these days when the work load is really heavy. Sometimes I do change drinking coffee to green tea.

Well this episode had a bit of everything, informative, great scenery, and daredevil stunts! The part about the different water temperatures was the best part (other than the bungee jump) as I can now experiment and adjust to suit my taste. I only started drinking green tea when I began eating at Japanese restaurants. On its own I usually only drink it during the winter months. My favourite when dining is the Genmaicha, I find the popped rice stimulates my appetite.
