I love that they have a separate spot to bag your groceries! I wish we had that here in Canada. I always feel so rushed when I have to bag my groceries when there’s people huffing and puffing behind me. I love your videos! 💕

anais bermudez only place I’ve seen in the states that have a separate area to bag your own things is at “Save A lot”.. At least by me in Philly, they have a whole Separate counter at the front you can go to after payin, to bag your own groceries && not feel rushed. && of course Any store that has self checkout ( Walmart,Target etc), if you feel like doing everything yurself.

I want to continue to cultivate internet friends (that's you!) who equally love sharing information and experiences. Just because something seems mundane to you, doesn't mean other's won't find it fascinating! We're all here to learn and have fun.. thank you for watching

@Nicole G. AH!!! we have hot food sections in some areas too... I feel like I remember grocery stores back home in the USA being super cold, too!
@kirstiepenman4 жыл бұрын
As has been mentioned, some supermarkets here in the U.K. are bitterly cold! In the bigger supermarkets, we have fresh fish and meat sections, maybe a deli? In my local, we have a little section to get samosas, bhajis and curries, but that’s not standard! You get your cheese counters (cheese is important to Brits), deli meats, a bakery section... in my local, we also have a couple of additional shops, e.g. Argos (featuring the laminated book of dreams to catch the tears of joy), but I just feel like it lacks literally everything you’ve just shown us. I am disappoint.

This particular supermarket didn't seem to have much of it, but on the packing benches they have numerous items to help you pack your groceries so they don't drop, leak or spoil before you get them home - they can have fresh produce-sized bags, sticky tape (Scotch tape/cello tape for you Americans), string, a wet sponge to assist you opening the plastic bags, paper/newspaper, those green plastic things that help you carry heavy plastic bags without them digging into your fingers, and some even have free ice to keep your cold items chilled. Self serve checkouts are slowly increasing in popularity but aren't a huge thing in Japan as they value a high level of customer service. Their self serve checkouts will normally greet you at the start, be more talkative than those in other countries and will graciously thank you at the end.

The packaging in Japan is so nice😁😍 And I was shookt when you carried your basket on the counter; wish Philippines could adapt also to that concept because here in the Philippines when we reach the counter we will take out all the grocery out of the basket one by one. I think Japan's way is more convenient and could lessen hand contacts especially that we are experiencing covid-19. Also, I love how they make refillables to lessen the use of plastic bottles. I really love how Japan functions 😊 I wish Philippines would also adapt to it. Have you been also in malls in Japan and discovered different functional stuffs that you could use at home or on yourself ? 😁 If yes, whay are those ? Since Japan functions well, I bet that their items also are so cool and functional 😁😁 Watching vlogs from you makes me wanna live in Japan but I had no money for it🤣🤣 or can someone implement those things in the Philippines ?? hihihi

Great video! I appreciated how you showed the variety of products available for each sort of item. Even when I was in Japan in the 80's they had the tables where you bagged your own groceries. What was different in your video is the hanging sheets of plastic over them. I guess that's to allow more than one person at a table at a time. I think it would be even more interesting if you were able to interview and talk with someone working there. Like when do they start making all the sushi, how do they decide what sorts to make and what happens at the end of the day.
