Not to mention my huge passion for Haicais. Matsuo Bashô was my first japanese haicai some years ago. Since those days, my love has been growing, Japanese and Brazilian haicais delight my days. I know nothing in Japanese, but "Ichigo Ichie" (I hope it is correct, please forgive me) brought me some kind of peace when my father passed away 3 years ago. I like your videos in Brazil a lot. I was in Brazil from April to September 2022 from USA to visit my Brazilian boyfriend. Now as of new year day2023 I am back in São Paulo with him. have u heard that tempura come from portuguese tempero (spice) because japanese people saw portuguese ppl coating fish with egg and flour and frying? and cabocha (japanese pumpkin) was introduced by portuguese too? they showed the pumking and said "this is from camboja" and japanese ppl understood that that was cabocha? do u think its true?

It's true, the Japanese learned that kind of deep frying from the Portuguese (but then they made it better). The word for bread in Japanese comes from Portuguese too, pan! I've read that about the pumpkin as well. In Brazil I think that we got some fruit names from Japan, like caqui (kaki) and that tangerine that we call ponkan.

George, I’d like to ask if you could try the ramen from a restaurant called Misoya. It’s not located in Liberdade but in the surroundings of Avenida Paulista, you’ve already been there in other videos. It’s owned by a couple that lived in Japan for years and decided to bring all they learned then tried to recreate the ramens the closest as they could from different areas of Japan, for example, Tokyo and Hokkaido. I’ve already that it’s pretty much similar and I’d like to know coming from a japanese if it’s accurate. Love your content!!

I went to Japan in 2014 and had good Udon there, and this one is surely as good as the Udon I had there. Here in São Paulo we have a lot of Sukiya units. Do you like it? (I love it) I regret that I only eated gyudon at Sukiya in Japan, and didn't try it on a real restaurant, I mean a more home made style.

We also have sukiya in Brazil. The food there is perfect! They also serve ramen there, that curious, because once I talked to a Japanese guy and he told that in Japan, sukiya does not serve ramen.

@@GeorgeJapan that is a funny story, i met a japanese guy in america, he was coming to visit brazil alone, then i told him he should go to sukiya and try the fried chicken there, it is so good, i didnt know it was a japanese original thing and he didnt even told me, he just listened to and agreed, but i felt some awkwardness, i guess that is why hahahah

You have to live there for a while to get your palette used to the flavors she was trying to introduce to you. Every time I go to Japan I have to prepare a month for my taste palette in advance. It's a large effort having to buy many ingredients and use them in Japanese cuisine -- never if I'm going to South Korea though I do have an addiction to S. Korean cuisine. 100% whitey.

I think I have been to that place in 2020. There was literally nothing vegetarian. I asked if they could just make it without meat but the stock, etc even has meat so they could do nothing for me.
