My daughter just showed me this. Its beautiful work. I wish there was a place near me that did this so I could do this for my daughter. And people saying its about self hate as the reason for doing this, I disagree. Ive encouraged my daughter daily that her natural hair is beautiful and she still hates dealing with it(not the hair, the maintenance) Straight hair is easier to manage than going through the process of combing, brushing, using multiple hair products just so you can get a brush through your hair, drying, flat ironing, braiding/tying/wrapping your hair at night. Just to do everything all over again when you wake up. Its a very draining process. Straight hair its just easier to manage.

Yes, I agree 100%. In fact, you took the words right out of my mouth. The beauty is a bonus. The low maintenance of the hair will save precious time of your life. I guarantee that.

are you my mom lol? because I was the same as your daughter, I decided that I wanted straight hair since forever because I am a lazy bum and I didn't like to waste too much time with it so I was pestering her all the time to let me have straight hair. Almost 10 years and I still rock my straight hair but I made a couple breaks between chemicals so my hair could rest.

@@luluah1198 uh i hope you know that its more things to manage and some people don't have the time to make it look cute you know. like i really wanted to get short hair and i got it cut and everything and when its curly its just not it. it doesn't look good. and honestly i do think curly hair is really beautiful but i don't think its for everyone. it takes more time for curly hair to look good then straight you know? straight hairs isn't the only most beautiful hair type but its the easiest to have. when i was younger i would wash my hair the night before church and the next day my hair would be the really poofy and frizzy and it just made it so big and uncomfortable. and yeah ik there are products to make it look nice or whatever but like i don't really have time for all of that you know. its really annoying. having curly hair at least for me was like a love and hate relationship. Madam c..j. walker invented this treatment in the 1800s. she was the first black millionaire and to come up with this Treatment after Slavery. A lot of blacks like some choose to keep their natural look.

What is the difference between this and a normal perm?
@momohairToronto
@momohairToronto 4 жыл бұрын
Hi Chantel, Japanese hair straightening is permanent, meaning your hair stays straight permanently; however the newly grown hair is your original hair type. Thus, our customers come back after six months for root touch-up.

This sounds like a relaxer...I'm not sure how it's different because relaxers do the same thing
@cocoaicci_
@cocoaicci_ 3 жыл бұрын
@@8ThatUp2 japanese straightening is supposed to make your hair BONE straight, with the shine and all, and its supposed to dry that way too without having to flat iron it every time. Relaxers aren't supposed to make your hair bone straight, its only supposed to relax your curls, hence why people with relaxers have that poorly done blown out frizzy-straight look.

I'm super late, but I have hair that is less curly than that, and it is colour treated. Should I avoid this? I'm tired of my hair taking too long to style and it being frizzy.
@momohairToronto
@momohairToronto 6 жыл бұрын
If your hair is bleached or highlighted, the perm solution might not work. We offer free pretest to see if your hair is suitable for the perm. Ask for it if you go to other salons. Lastly, if you want to do perm and color on your hair at the same time, the only way to do is to have the perm first then the color.

@momohairToronto
@momohairToronto 5 жыл бұрын
Hi, thank you for your question. Unfortunately, it cannot be done without the relaxer. It is the main ingredient to straighten the hair. The chemical solution we use is much milder, comparing to other straightening techniques, and it gives the best possible outcome. If you have any other question, please don't hesitate to ask us again. Thank you.

HI, this looks great! I am still not clear for people who have kinky afro hair and get a japanese straightening - can they just wash their hair and go form day to day or do they still need to blow dry and flat iron to achieve shiny straight hair and maintain the style?

Perhaps it would be best if I leave a customer's review: "Words cannot describe how happy I am with my hair! From the moment I walked in the door, Liz and team answered all my questions and were very efficient and friendly. I did the Japanese hair straightening and I just washed it for the first time after waiting 72 hours and just... wow!! All I did was let it air dry and my hair looks like I just came out of a hair salon. Super shiny, no frizz and most importantly sleek straight. I can't believe I used to spend $$ on Keratin and still spend hours straightening it. The time and effort I will save are priceless. Thank you Momo hair and see you for my touch up!"

Meshalle James its not a perm. Perms dont leave your hair pin straight after you wash it. This is also healthier than a perm. Just look up the damn ingredients and conpare. Theyre not the same thing and i was in beauty school for a while so i would know. Perms also only make black people hair straight, If not blacks tried it, it would make it curly.
@mirajiastaten5905

The Sniper if you went to beauty school you would know that PERMS are for people who want their hair curly & RELAXERS make it straight. They are two different things. I've never heard a beauty school graduate or student say perms make black peoples hair straight & white peoples hair curly. Go back to school.
@mirajiastaten5905
@mirajiastaten5905 7 жыл бұрын
Meshalle James & what they're using is most definitely a relaxer. There's no such thing as a "healthier" relaxer. If it makes hair permanently straight & it's a chemical your hair is damaged no matter what you call it.
