My very first Coke Studios song was Afreen Afreen so it was so cool to actually see and react to a song by Coke Studios Pakistan!! ‪@cokestudio‬ truly has such an amazing production from the ones I have seen-the music, the set, the costumes, the colors. Everything so beautifully captures culture and history, people, and its just so refreshing to see! I wish they came out with a little backstory description as to what the song was about and the people singing it but from what I can tell in the comments, it was about a girl from Sindh?! If anybody does know, please leave some info down in the comments! Yes it did show people of Sindh and mainly from Thar desert a minority with humble backgrounds. Actually Coke Studio used to give detailed description of songs and their meaning but now they write short ones as they have made BTS a thing of its own, kind of a docu series of songs called The Magical Journey. Its a Folk story of Umer Marvi. Marvi was a village girl kidnapped by king Umer. She fought bravely and in the end the king himself brought her back to her people. Women of her village welcoming her celebrating. Singing Aayi Aayi. (Here she comes)

Basically, is a folktale from Sindh Pakistan (Umar Marvi), about a village girl of phanwar tribe(Marvi), who resists the overtures of a powerful King Umar and the temptation to live in the palace as a queen, but she preferring to be in a simple rural environment with her own village.the king Umar was in love with marvi and she was very beautiful. The king umar of that time forcefully took her and wanted to marry her. He locked her in his castle of (Umerkot) in sindh. Mari was so faithful and a woman of honor, that she didn't accept the king's offer. He promised to give her all the assets she wanted. Mari never agreed and denied everything. Throughout this period she did not eat anything and went on a hunger strike where she was locked up. She said I would rather die than be disloyal. Ultimately king had to surrender. He released her and respectfully sent her back to her village where she was welcomed as a heroine.mentioned in song(Aayi Aayi) finally, she ate a simple meal at home. That act is beautifully symbolized by the peacock in this song. AND Dolphins represent river indus (sindu) and also peacocks represents thar

So this is folk story of Marvi and king umer king umer loved marvi and he want to marry her and he forcefully took her fron her village Marvi was the one who loved her village very much and she wanted to go back to her village she showed resilience and she fought from many difficulties and after watching her struggle king umer sent her back to her village than her vilaagers welcomed her by saying Aayi Aayi so basically this song is of women empowerment and the language used in this song is sindhi language sindh is province of Pakistan this folk story belongs to sindh basically they want to show sindhi culture also

One more thing, the reason why they don't add description about every song b coz they release 15 to 18 minutes magical journey (BTS) of every song in which they discribe everything about that song.
