The table design is like a Kotatsu table. A typically square low table that has a radiant heater mounted under the table that faces down. People sit around the table in the winter with their legs under the table to keep warm. I always enjoy your build videos. Thank you.

Jon: I'm working on a simple storage with drawers. I'm getting hung up with laying out the drawers in terms of spacing and how you calculate where the slides go etc. Maybe a future video explaining how you determine layout and drawer size. Thank you!! @@JonPetersArtHome

Hey Jon - Welcome back. I took a break, too, after making the 2 bureaus for the master bedroom. I tore apart the master bath tiled shower and did it right. Best to everyone. Thumbs up.

It's gorgeous! Thank you for making a series of elegant furniture ideas and projects accessible to those of us without all the major tools and skills that more advanced furniture makers have. I wish you hosted courses; I’d sign up in a New York Second. I think you instill a relaxed vibe, and confidence, almost Norm Abram-esque. 😉 Kudos!!!

Great addition to your furniture line, Jon! Anybody would be proud to have this in their home. I love that the build is approachable to newer woodworkers, yet being mahogany gives it a "bragging rights" feel.

Beautiful, I would have cut an arch or some sort of ornamental "removal" of material from the straight pieces connecting the legs. They look heavier than needed on this piece.

Trust me I make plenty of mistakes… But also have the opportunity to edit them out :) . Making mistakes is all part of Wood Working and the only way to get better my advice is always try to take it slow… Anything good takes time.

Beautiful table, Jon~! On the tabletop glue-up, does the Thixo come off pretty easily with a scraper or chisel? You didn't show that detail, so just wondering. Didn't know if it had hardened fully or was still pliable when you removed it. Great work (as usual)~! Looking forward to see if this plan winds up in a future bundle since I have most of your plans already. 🙂

I removed it with a router similar to how I cut plugs with a router. I didn’t include it in the video because I covered it in depth in my last table top video. Maybe I should post a short video on just that subject… Let me know what you think. Thanks for watching!

Gorgeous table! One question though. I didn't see a sanding stage in the video. Did you jump over that because, as we all know, who likes to watch sanding? Or was it not a necessary step with the several coats of spar-varnish?
