S-S-S was known as triple S. The Galant GTO was really named Colt Galant GTO. I would replace the SR5 with the Sprinter which was based on the Corolla. I remember all of these cars as I was in the Navy early to mid 70's and stationed at Japan.

@justme307 we did and produced some great muscle cars ourselves like the Falcon GT or the Monaro. Worth noting that we didn't get some Gems from the states like the Viper or the Grand national sold in volume. Those are some cool machines.

No mention of my car, a 1967 2000 SRL311 Roadster. One of 1000 made, one of maybe 300 or so left. Nissan's first over head cam engine, 150hp and a 5 speed in '67. Mine (street modified) has dynoed at 141hp at THE WHEELS, and that was before I installed 40mm Jenvey Heritage EFI and a crank-fired ignition controlled by a Microsquirt V3. Compare the production numbers for the 240z and it's much more rare. And a convertible!

Like my mint 2007 G35 6 speed has 360 hp to the read wheels, it rips and was deemed GODZILLA in Japan. It handles like a 911 but beats V8 Mustangs and Camaros on the tracks.

But the Germans don't care :))) and the first driver was NIKI LAUDA! No joke! It was low, wide and mean... many competitors BMW and Co. had problems. At some point the Black Widow disappeared without a trace. What you see is a faithfully reproduced original! There were no plans, but a former employee had everything in his head and rebuilt it... Opel Commodore 6 cylinders. Klaus Steinmetz built Opel Commodte A and later Commodore B. Both had 6 cylinder in-line engines. I built an Opel Rekord (unfortunately a 4 cylinder) 15 years ago and my grandma was the sponsor :D .

Stop yankafiying the pronunciation of car names. Pronounce it like the rest of the world, and more precisely, how the manufacturer named there cars. SSS, is called a triple S, a 240 Z is pronounced Zed. Gallant, gall (as in gallon) ant, Celica, cell ik ah, and the skyline gtr, was baged a Datsun. @MuscleCarEnthusiasts sorry, just over yanks talking about non yank cars. As an aside, we didn't get the GTR 20000, what we got was the 240K (exactly the same, but with the engine from the 240Z. In the early 80's, I spotted a k for sale in a car yard, a 73 model. I looked at it, liked it took it for a test drive, and was unimpressed. I told the sale's man, it was to slow from 0 to 100. As I walked away he run up to me and said, "you do realise the Speedo is in mph?". Australia went metric in 74. I thought it was klm, lol. In the end I purchased a Mazda Capella RE coupe (falsely called an RX2).

Those were just asian cars made by asian !! So German cars were & are much better advanced the techs by Teutonic German Engineering !!!!!😄😄💋💋

It's pretty much well-known that the two are similar, with the E-Type being the reference model when the 2000GT was being designed.

@@64fairlane305 From a 2005 Motor Trend article Toyota 2000GT vs Jaguar E-Type: Toyota bought an early E-Type--along with a Lotus Elan, a Porsche 911, and numerous other sports cars--to study. The E-Type obviously inspired Nozaki's bodywork, but he wanted to improve on the Jag's aerodynamics. To motivate the lithe GT, Toyota and Yamaha developed a scaled-down version of the Jaguar engine using the flagship Crown sedan's iron 2.0-liter inline-six engine block as a starting point.
