All those customs we have here (UK) minus one or two. Towel on head? You will get strange looks. Tattoos? Who hasn't. ? The rest... identical.

I probably went to a sento. I had saw 4 sections. One was regular, the section right next to it made my hands tingly which I found pretty uncomfortable 😅. I saw an section that the water was brown like tea and I had seen the temperature guarded was like 34° or something. I didn't know what exactly that temperature was but I wasn't going to find out. I hated that I wasn't prepared but I couldn't do much about it. Another gentleman was kind enough to show me some of the ropes.

Literally get fully naked, Shower super clean, sit in the bath don’t move, stfu, don’t get your head in the water. It’s not a swimming pool

Im sorry but as an american i dont know how i would feel soaking naked in front of other people. Especially being white which means ill constantly be judged by the japanese
