Red flags in Assassins Creed Shadows: 1. Using an historical person as a main character. 2. Using a main character not from the culture and region. 3. Use of Chinese building structure in Feudal Japan. 4. Ubisoft stealing a flag from an army recreational group. 5. Hip hop music playing when Yasuke fights. 6. Ubisoft working with Sweet Baby Inc AGAIN. 7. Yasuke not acting like a Samurai in battle. 8. Yasuke being treated as a God when everyone is just bowing to him. 9. Ubisoft being involved with the edits around Yasuke on Wikipedia. 10. Ubisoft using Chinese Mandarin in the Kanji in a game set in Feudal Japan. 11. The pushing of LGBT stuff into the game (which also makes no sense in the realm of the animus). 12. Ubisoft working with a writer whose main "prominent" work is about monks being in relationships with young boys. 13. Ubisoft stealing the katana of Zoro from One Piece for Yasuke. 14. Not wiping blood off the katana before sheathing it. 15. Ubisoft got the seasons wrong. 16. Samurai wouldn't be walking around with their armor on at all times. Also the double standards media has to glorify Yasuke killing a bunch of Japanese people yet these same people attacked the likes of RE5. The double standards also continue with the people praising this game, a game that doesn't pay 100% correct tribute to Japan, were the ones attacking Ghost Of Tsushima, which did try to be as accurate as possible, simply because it was made an entirely European team. Those devs did their research. Ubisoft did not.

I laughed hard at Yasuke doing Karate forms… Karate is from Okinawa and wasn’t even a thing back in that era… it was brought to mainland Japan in the Taishō era (around 1900’s) besides the weaponry training, the empty-hand martial arts that Samurais did was Ju-jutsu (Judo and Jiu-jitsu came from this martial art) A lot of things they show in this trailer aren’t even from Japan. Ubisoft devs are racist and ignorant.

You’re playing as an assassin in a fictional game I’m not worried about if the ground surrounding a bonsai tree doesn’t make it look believable that there should be a bonsai tree growing there. The problem with Western developers making a game based on Japanese history is that they don't really care about Japanese history or culture. They just want to use the aesthetics to sell a game. The added anachronism of racial politics makes it even more cynical. If you're looking to appreciate the Japanese culture in a time period where Samurai were crucial and respected, play Ghost of Tsushima. They portray the Japanese culture and lifestyle of that period near perfectly, if not perfectly. They respected the culture while simultaneously making a non-historical protagonist to fit in the narrative they'd written around a historically brutal time in Japan's history.

Honestly there are many valid points that I can understand many people being upset by especially Japanese people but when it comes to complains like the samurai armor being worn all the time It feels like sometimes people choose to forget that this is a videogame and probably an rpg style game like the others too in wich you will more than likely be able to customize and wear different outfits of your preference. But besides that maybe I'm a minority here but I've personally never played a game and said, you know what! I'll just take off my armor and wear normal clothes as I go through this town. It's just hard to imagine gamers caring enough if it makes sense to be wearing the armor they have on in all locations of a game. Also I could be wrong but if I remember right when they did the Paris assassins there were a lot of creative liberties taken with the buildings and they were not very accurate at all to accommodate the style of gameplay and even the catacombs were present in the game even though in real life they were made after the revolution and their inclusion was because they were unsure if they would revisit Paris if I'm not mistaken but again like I said, it's a videogame so it felt reasonable.

i think a lot of problems w this game can be avoided if they comapny didnt advertise it as showing real historical figures, events, and that players can learn history from it. i dont think anyone expects realism/historical accuracy from a game, especially from assassins creed, but to justify their shortcomings as "its just historical fiction not documentary" is a bit conflicting when theyve already did their marketing campaign around historical accuracies. aside from that it clearly shows they dont actually have any respect or even do research while making this game as well. if they had just made a game about a completely fictional japan in a completely fictional world w fictional depiction of historical figures (like what fate did for example) i dont think anyone would have had any issues. but their stubborness to claim that the players can learn real history via this game had ultimately become their downfall

The most shocking part about this whole thing is how nobody at the head of Ubisoft took one look at Yasuke and said "stop. Ok now I watched the video. I'm no expert in Japanese history or historical warfare, but even I can see that a hatch in the roof of a castle in a country full of assassins is a bad idea.
Historical fantasy/fictional shouldn't be a game genre anymore, this is a proof how people can ruin it by saying it "fantasy/fictional" of something that actually historic, because for this case the Japanese regard highly of their culture/history, and changing it by saying it's fantasy/fictional is a such a cheap trick. Like you get the attention/views because this game based of real historical and culture of Japan, and then you change it because it's fantasy/fictional to the point that this ubisoft is lazy company that the only thing they can do is copy stuff from a country because it attracts the people and then change any part of historical/culture of the country because it's fantasy so it doesnt matter what kind of change we do to the historic/culture without considering the Japanese people and have the guts to say "you learn Japanese history/culture", like seriously?!

Nah... The genre exist since forever and will continue to exist. They were not in trouble until they made a game set in Japan. Maybe they should think before acting 🤷♂️. LOOOVED That they picked Yasuke as a playable character but that Sweet Baby Inc situation scares me alot 😕... Will definitely compare Yasuke in NIOH vs in AC Shadows, it's gonna interesting!

@@jaxthedisintegrator8096 Tbh, i have nothing against Yasuke,Naoe and whatever the plot is because it's been like that for previous AC games, but the basic stuff like torii gate is meant for entrance to a shrines for praying not to a city is already bad, no matter how minor it is should be treated in the respectful way cause it's actual culture/history of Japanese people, imagine if they make cross in the church upside down cause it's "fantasy".

Is the air in the game the same as in Japan? Jesus people. Just enjoy the game , nothing is going to be 100% accurate when it comes to movies or games.

Is asking to be 25% accurate too much for multibillion company? 😂😂😂

The problem with this game is that Ubislop wants to depict a historical accuracy of this game by using Thomas Lockle (idk his accurate name) as the source, an african origin man who came to Japan and became samurai. If this sort of content is depicted to be fictional and not historical accuracy, for instance where an african merchant came to Japan to sell some goods and suddenly bandits took his wife and child. Therefore, he became a swordsman to hunt down the bandits. Do you think that instance is okay for the Japanese?
@akanomamushi15Ай бұрын
@@V0RTA Thomas Lockley is the accurate name of the fraud. That idea can work since the MC has to learn how to be a swordsman. Unlike in what Lockley is propagating, we didn't even know if Yasuke took up samurai combat training. Critics will say that Adams became a samurai but didn't even undergo training. Here is the thing with William Adams, he contributed something, knowledge on western politics, warfare and stuff. Things that were very valuable to Tokugawa Ieyasu. He was granted samurai status because of it.

i'm not physicist but if Yasuke doing a leap of faith from that height while wearing a full set of armor doesn't he will get crushed like a tin can. I know logic doesn't apply on AC game but c'mon man...
Oh my god stop the bullshit ! Every leap of faith since the beginning of AC is completly unrealistic. Stop acting like it matters, now that yasuke is involved.

@@Brøwz09 i know it, but remember. At least in every ac before Odyssey every character wearing lighter clothing or wearing less metal on their clothing. A fabric clothing or a full set of armor, which one you think will absorb a fall impact better?
@Brøwz09Ай бұрын
@@bristleback3614 Remember the altair armor from ac 2 ? Just look back, there was quite a lot of metal armor on it. Not as much as yasuke obviously, but it shocked no one. I think people just want to criticise every little detail of the game since yasuke's reveal. Regardless i will play it day one, and if the game is good, i will enjoy it. If not, well, at least i would have seen by myself.
@bristleback3614Ай бұрын
@@Brøwz09 That's correct. In Ghost of Tsushima for example Jin doing that crazy cliff climbing and spiderman thing using a grappling hook while wearing a full armor but nobody care since the game is good.

In the AC graphic novels, the Japanese branch of the Assassin Brotherhood is a primary ally of Tokugawa Ieyasu (when Tokugawa was still a vassal of Oda until the end of the war), not Oda Nobunaga, since Ieyasu used ninjas for his cunning deception against his enemies. I don't recall the assassins working for Oda unless they retconned it.
