As a Vietnamese myself, seeing Fried Rice cooked like that was........making my blood pressure went UP TO THE CHART!!!! You may use leftover rice but cooking fried rice, you have to make sure it was dried rice (not too dried). Spring onion or black pepper would be THE LAST THING you put in there. You can use small crispy fried tofu (like a small pieces with still have a shape of a serving tofu) with the fried rice to prevent the wetness. YOU NEVER WANT TO PUT WATER DURING YOUR COOKING UNLESS YOU WANT TO COOK A BOMB!!!! BTW, the Sriracha was originally came from Thailand (named a town called Si Racha) but was widely popularized in Southeast Asia. Especially in Vietnam where Pho used Sriracha a lot. The Vietnamese Sriracha came in different type but the mainstream USA product was only good for the soup. If you comes to some Asian Market, get the Chinsu one. It was a little bit of sweet but double the spiciness and good for both soup and dipping (Heck, some of my friend even eat fries with that sauce.) We called it in literal sense "Tương ớt'' means pepper sauce.

But in Thailand, It's a province name that originate the famous hot sauce. But we can't trademark a province name, While the name can be registered officially in America. But the sauce are originate here in Sriracha province. Though the teste are different. The famous Vietnamese American Sriracha are made with American chili and has its own taste that suit for American. Thai Sriracha also has many style since there are many brand. But all of it use local ingredient, Especially the chili that are totally different kind from American one. But the American Sriracha never beat Thai Sriracha in our local. It's registered trade mark in Thai is "Chicken brand Sriracha sauce". Anyway, That's why there's no American Sriracha in Japan. Because that brand are American product. It just made by Asian American.

I actually feel so bad for Jamie Oliver. He looked so happy while making the video but afterwards, 😣😣.

For goodness sake, we even have Lee Kum Kee Chili Garlic Sauce and for me, it is better than chili jam and it is also good for egg-fried rice.

I'm definitely late by like... 6 days But man... it was all chuckles and laughs until 8:35 happened. That is the face of visible confusion and disappointment. You got a contagious laugh though. Makes the questionable Jamie Oliver cooking 10x funnier

"firm silken tofu" is my mans high why would you put tofu in egg fried rice why would silken tofu be firm what is the meaning of life why is jamie a chef

A local version of fried rice starts with onion (white, yellow, red, or purple) and garlic with oil (vegetable, sesame, etc). We add leftover rice and eggs. Depending on the oil you use and your personal taste we may add soy sauce or Tabasco hot sauce for a spice kick.
