Known as Hibachi in America, Shichirin is the tabletop grilling made popular in Japan during the Edo period.
Enjoying Japanese table top grilling is a summer essential for our family. It brings the whole family together and we enjoy cooking and eating together as a family.
This style of cooking brings out the best flavors of the meat and veggies as the charcoal has no smoke to change the flavor of the food.
The special charcoal process makes this charcoal the best and cleanest for tabletop grilling.

Haha! That robata is so cute and perfect for a party of 3-4. I love how you can just start the coals in it directly with a torch.

Cool. When rinsing, you can dump it on a plant and save the water.

The video is not so much about the grill itself but about grilling at the table with my family and enjoying the style of eating. Thanks for watching and commenting.

never rinse rice that is enriched - especially if rice is the mainstay of your diet. Berberi was once a common disorder if Asia due to lack of certain B-vitamins because of eating white rice.

Since we do not eat rice as a mainstay we rinse it. It helps to remove the excess starch and we don’t get that layer of starch on top of the rice. B vitamins are mostly found in animal products we eat plenty of those. Thank you for watching and commenting!
