When I heard you say "this is a clever little bit of word play", I thought you will at some point mention that SAN値直葬 is a pun on 産地直送... and the fact that you didn't kinda 削る my SAN値 a bit lol

Hey, I'm a Brazilian who learned English a few years ago, and now I'm studying Japanese. Your videos are great for helping me learn more about their culture and how they use kanji. Thank you very much! Keep up the great work!! I’ve been watching all your videos non-stop for a while now.

Oh hey, I recognize the object at 0:59. Its actually dice, or more exactly, a d20 in a canister of "Cthulhu blood" that works kinda like a magic 8-ball. You shake it up and let the dice float to the top to see what you rolled. Perfect for, of course, a roll to see if you've lost sanity in a game of Call of Cthulhu.

Wow, as a lovecraftian fiction fan, I would have never expected the world of cosmic horror, existential dread and sanity checks to clash with the world of japanese society and language - worlds are colliding!

Yooooo i had no idea that's what they were chanting in the Nyaruko song! My initial guest was that it was a katakana import name of some kind of Lovecraftian reference i didn't get!

Despite having the feeling that it prolly came from tabletop RPG stuff, I knew what I signed up for when I saw the title of this video and I am glad you delivered with the Haiyore Nyaruko-san \(・ω・\)SAN値!(/・ω・)/ピンチ! \(・ω・\)SAN値!(/・ω・)/ピンチ! \(・ω・\)SAN値!(/・ω・)/ピンチ! \(・ω・\)SAN値!(/・ω・)/ピンチ! 破ッ

I can confirm that singing 恋はカオスのしもべなり* will get a lot of people singing along during the 「SAN値ピンチ!」 sections. * 恋は渾沌の隷也 if you're feeling naughty.

After a good 10 minutes of pondering as a non-gamer, my guess is SAN値 originates from the song 山口さんちのツトム君 and is a pun on 産地, meaning the character's extra power value given by the cooperating family members. Not sure it's even a word but writing this before googling it
