reminds me of the fighting game slang ベガ立ち (begatachi, that is, "dictator/m.bison-stance"), for people who stand in the back of the arcade and watch with their arms cross (like m.bison). for example, a ベガ立ち group might form if someone really good starts playing and people don't want their butt kicked.

great info = ). I think there are two more nuances. 1. Live/concert tickets are same price across all seatings, no mater arena seats or upstair, therefore people with faraway seats use this term to self-deprecate because 2) some seats at the first row of the upstair area (or the 1st ring) are often reserved for VIPs (relatives, the director, and of course the long-rumored idols' boyfriends).

@@pusicer live concert seats are the same price no matter where???

@ yep. Except for performances like, ballet, orchestra or musicals like 宝塚. The only concert I have been to have tiered seating is the latest Utada Hikaru tour which has two tiers and the seats are randomly assigned within tiers. Other than that, yah, all seats cost the same and they are randomly assigned.
