I've been to the Mount Daisen twice and once was during the lantern festival. Been to and explored Yonago and Tottori. It was one of the best experience ever!. And also, Daisen beef is so delicious.

Thanks for sharing the beautiful fall colors with us! Feeling a bit down as I was supposed to visit Japan for the first time in March and then had rescheduled to next week, but that’s not going to happen either. Looks like it’ll be Fall 2021 at the earliest 😞

I've been to Daisen March last year with snow in the mountain so pretty. I did not hike up due to the snow but got to the 1st temple :)

I figure it's one of those euphonical modifications - sort of like hana + hi = hanabi. As a Japanese friend told me once - "hanahi doesn't sound good". (And I found out, around the same time, by way of a Spanish-translated version of Crayon Shin-chan, it's "fuego artificiales" in Spanish...)

No, looks fine to me in most spots. There are times the signal will go out for a few seconds but it is part of our tech in 2020 🤷🏻♂️ live in a countryside mountain town ... is pretty incredible if you think about it.

John, I was NOT impressed with the guy with the chest nut things using his bare hands to handle food, and concomitantly handling cash! All without washing or sanitizing his hands! Even without a pandemic that lack of hygiene and food handling safety would be unacceptable.

Yeah, different culture. I think life here is very different in the countryside where older values are held. Either way, it was really good 😋 and none of us knows what goes on back in the kitchen. At least we know - and I still enjoyed it and thankful he let me film. I asked before hand.
