Japanese tools are just so precise and nicely made. Been buying all kinds of JP tools. Love at first sight!

I couldn't agree more -- even their cheap stuff feels nice in the hand IMO. Designed with ergonomics and usability in mind. Next haul will be some Engineer pliers -- some scissors -- and a bunch of drafting/drawing tools!!

@16:20 I store my screw driver bits in a small canvas pouch, the ones for pens and pencils. I think it's a great storage medium as it can conform into my tool case.

The yellow vessel ball ratchets are made in Thailand now. The grey ones are the last made in Japan ones left.

The ratcheting ball with replaceable bits is also made in Japan.

I saw this video last month and got myself a pair of impact driver with ceramic balls inside it. Vessel No.250's if I remember them correctly. Now I either whack them or shake them, the rattling sound of the ceramic balls kinda make my inner boy happy for whatever reason.

A big thanks for not unwrapping under the microphone🙂some YT tool videos aren't Airpod friendly. I also have one of those black Vessel ball drivers and I have been leaving the thing in the packaging until I come up i with a decent solution. I will have to have a look for some of those Vessel ratcheting screwdrivers they look good

We were given a set of Wiha screwdrivers where I work(32092 I believe), and they have held up extremely well in our harsh industrial machining plant.

Yeah -- I have a couple too -- not sure why I was ever down on Wiha -- they make nice stuff.

It's ridiculous how much more quality goes into Japanese tools that goes into American. We cannot hold a match to the quality and workmanship on some of these Japanese tools such as Koken or Nepros if you've never seen any Nepros tools urine for a shocked at how great they look they're almost like works of art you wouldn't even want to use at work.. their wooden handle screwdrivers just blow me away. And it won't be long before I have their big set. Along with several ratchets and wrenches. Just works of art all around but you pay for that. Koken ratchets are some of the best ratchets I've ever laid my hands on. And I won't be happy until I have half a dozen or more of them. The nearly 0 back drag simply amazed me. You could blow on it and it will spin.

Not only tools but almost every thing made by them is high quality, their domestic cars made in Japan are top notch or exceptional quality.

@@FarooqF-g2x the place you want to get your Toyota Lexus made is definitely Japan. Stay far away from anything made in Mexico and almost as far away from Canada.
@FarooqF-g2x11 ай бұрын
@@jeffwolf8018 Spot on! Decades ago American quality was the way to go but now it is decreasing. Same with other countries and lately German quality has also received criticism. Lexus a great car, the sound proofing in domestic Japanese cars is next level

Like your channel!! I too had to make a decision, so I tried the Vessel, the WIHA (wooden handles) and the PB Swiss Tools. My wife and I both chose the Swiss tools. They are just absurdly nice in your hand while working! Vessel is a great brand but I only have a few things (the impact e.g.). In the end, when you are not a collector, it has to FEEL good while working... Keep doing this stuff though. I love it🙂

Good choice! PB Swiss makes insanely nice stuff -- I just can't stomach the cost sometimes!! Check our drpd.cc -- guy in CA that runs a bike shop and a really awesome online tool store -- tons of PB Swiss!

Never heard of olfla knives but I do have a Knipex Fox knife that has a special feature with it I don't know if these two or not but when you put the blade out you can also put out a backer plate part of the blade that actually gives the blade 10 times more support than just having the blade out there in the open. Fir $28 you can't go wrong.

Those are not Phillips but JIS screwdrivers. JIS screws look a lot like Philips screws, but the cut is slightly different. What is weird is that a Phillips screwdriver with a JIS tight screw will strip it out, but a JIS screw works well with Phillips screws.

Love me some Japanese tools though the downside to most of the drivers you bought won’t work with standard US sized bits

Are you sure? I use regular bits in mine except the clear stubby with the double sided bit but makita makes similar bits to the vessels and they work

There seems to be a mini one horizontal type made by Rubicon and also Vessel. Another type is a traditional style with angular adjustments ; which one is better?

Hi quick question - how do you save money on Amazon Japan shipping? I’ve heard people say big orders are cheaper, but my shipping was itemized and was the same price whether I bought a few items or a lot. How do you get this bulk savings?
@whatfreedom7 Жыл бұрын
I found a sunflag screwdriver cheap for $3.80 but shipping from Japan was going to be $18. So I canceled it. Just not worth the high shipping cost. Maybe if I hade more items it might have been cheaper or free on the shipping.

Nice haul, some items ive been eyeing in here. I have that ratcheting screwdriver with the 3 sets of bits and i agree, they are really good. They feel a lot better than most of the ones you find in the US. Are there any secrets to ordering off of amazon Japan? I might need to make an order.

No real tricks - the shipping increases as you add more items - but it’s more economical to buy a bunch at once!! More excuses for more tools!!
