Some Maids said that the reason that they hide their faces from camera's out on the street. Is that the cafe can charge for photos once in the cafe. Which made sense as opposed to any other reason. Must be hard work making polite conversation with customers and singing and dancing and preparing things. Great fun seeing inside a cafe.

I a way, they are modeling, so I agree that they ought too charge for photos and videos they appear in.

@@jacobk626 English is not my primary language, but as I understand, Russel did not mean that other jobs are not hard. Isn't it true when you say: "It must be sad to lose a pet," it does not necessarily mean that losing your mom is not sad at all? They are just different levels of sad, same as jobs having different levels of being hard. I hope I got my point across.

I thought your not allowed to film inside the maid cafe. That's nice that they let you interview them!
@DVS78
@DVS78 2 жыл бұрын
They probably won't let just anybody film inside the reason they did was because it was a controlled video hiding the dark secrets behind it and actually makes publicity and advertisement but if you go to Japan you'll find out legal age of consent is 13 and these are horrible things going on in Japan anybody knows the facts about that should be able to see right through these cafes if you go to Japan you'll find out
@Fate862
@Fate862 2 жыл бұрын
@@DVS78 We know about that but your looking way too into that and your turning all of them into that idea. You sound like a conspiracy theorist. Afew places are like that but only afew and depends what part of and areas your in for that. Places like this and other maid cafes are all quite normal. If he goes to japan he will find out that's its quite normal maid cafes around and what areas in japan to avoid that are abit sketchy.
@DVS78
@DVS78 2 жыл бұрын
@@Fate862 I guess I didn't mean to get so extreme with their all the same but a lot of it does happen and the reason I know is I know a lot of retired guys and these are veterans who have been there overseas in different countries and they all like to go to South America Japan Korea in the Philippines and Taiwan to get young girls one guy he brings them back here to the states sometimes that they're illegal age other times he stays there for months on end with them but there's quite a few older guys that are retired I'd l that have told me about the different countries and legal age of consent which is lower than ours but some are just getting girls in their twenties but they do say yeah they're pretty much it's up there in the air if you want something and it's a lot cheaper they say too living over there only cost you $500 to $900 a month and you live like a king and it's easy to get women overseas and it is here in America I just get worried when I start hearing such young of ages and seeing such Young people with people that are old enough to be their father or grandfather for sure sorry if I went overboard with my comment it just kind of struck me when I seen the video and thought about some of these retired guys I know and they're 60s and 70s which are mostly veterans that are still fit and sitting pretty on money so it becomes her hobby

@@DVS78 False, the legal age of 13 is only in theory. There's other welfare laws or wtv that raises that age to 18. If you engage in anything sexual with anyone younger than 18 you face charges up to 10 years.

I hate how robotic and overly formal Japanese customer service is. It is so cold. I've lived here 6 years, and the idea here that service is good is probably the 2nd biggest foreign misconception of Japan. The other being that it is a high-tech nation, when in actual fact it is like living in the 1980s

I had watched a clip about Tokyo Nightlife and I see no difference of that city than from what any other worldwide city has to offer. I'm thinking of visiting Tokyo in a few years time and that 'living in the 1980s' vibe is part of the attraction for me. I doubt though going to maid cafes is one of the things I'd want to do if I do visit As to your comment about Japanese customer service, I could imagine it would get tiresome after a while but as a short term visitor I would like to imagine it would be part of the charm of visiting another country and sampling their culture as a tourist

Aren't Maid Cafes the vanilla side of the sex industry in particular S&M? And during daylight hours it's vanilla experience, but after nightfall it becomes "seedy" or more "adult" orientated? On the extreme end of the spectrum, don't the seedier Maid Cafes/Bars double as escort bars?
@whereisrevell
@whereisrevell 2 жыл бұрын
No. They are not sex dens like the bars in Shinjuku. Just honest cosplay work for hire in a maid setting. The cops would all over that if it were. However, if a client and a girl hit it off privately that is a whole nother thing, but doubtful with a gaijin
@byghostlight0
@byghostlight0 2 жыл бұрын
Er what? In theory, there is nothing sexual about maid cafes at all. If some guys get excited about them, thats their own pervy issues. On the tame side of night life you have these, Girls Bar (where you basically have pay for the overcounter company of a bar maid to talk to), then host/hostess clubs, then on the other side thats when things cross to the sex industry. But to suggest Maid Cafes are anything to do with that industry is a leap. (naturally there are SOME are a little less tame)

Maid cafe? I wonder if I could hire one of these "maids" to come and clean my house for me. And not necessarily wearing those bulky-looking uniforms. And what's that sign at 2:58 saying, "no puking allowed"?

When I lived in Tokyo back in the 90's, Hostess bars where the rule. These seem to be a kind of off-shoot of those bars, I think.

I notice that when you walk through the street and the maids notice they are being filmed, then a lot of them hide their face. Why is that? Is there some stigma attached to being a maid or something, and they don't want anyone to know? Or is it for some other reason?

Anybody else notice the flyer girls cover their face when they see a camera. They must not have facial recognition CCTV everywhere yet lol. 3:07 that's a lot of cleaning products on the counter, we sure this just a Cafe? haha. Something about paying for a social interaction always makes me cringe.
