I've always loved Japanese and Chinese cultures...recently I started following Japanese walking video channel and I just love seeing japan at a walking pace. KZbin recommended one of your videos and this is, so far, the 3rd I have watched. I like your videos my friend. Your candid conversations with the people is very relaxing and informative...and the Japanese people GENUINELY seem like very kind and warm people. I know that you are only showing a small part, but you can still feel the gentle kindness of the people you interact with. I know it's probably a cultural thing as well...when you compare the Japanese people with other Westerners, like Americans. Very polite and patient, gentle and kind....it makes the people and the place all that much more beautiful. I am subscribed and look forward to seeing more of your content.

Brilliant video, these girls are sweet and easy to talk to & is a fascinating insight in life Japanese way of work. The fabric use to make these Beautiful dresses is available cross japan as there are a lot of fabric shops that sell it, I buy it to make corsets, there are shops in "Nippori Fabric town" not far form Ueno station and also in fabric shops in Kyoto that also sell it as I have bought loads form these shops a few years back and can be bought also in the UK. These videos you make are Priceless and its great to have this understanding thank you

I loved it. Loved both parts. Maid cafes get the wrong reputation, but actually these are places that create a very unique environment and experience. It's a very interesting an unique thing that doesn't exist anywhere in the world. Which is kinda awesome if you think about it. Such creativity. I remember your other maid video too. I specifically remember the girl messing up the omelette shape and the ketchup artwork in the cutest possible way, which made me chuckle, even right now seeing it at the end reminded me of that lol

The bad reputation is due to some of this small stablishments blur the lines between a "maid cafe" and a "host club" (in cosplay) and people might be charged a lot of money without expecting. But if the costs are clear and people know what they are buying then there's no ploblem.

I've got some questions : - Are maid cafes affordable or are they mainly scams? Does it always worth it? - Can we drink alcohol or not (maybe for security reasons for the girls, dunno...)? - Are they as friendly as in the video, even if you're not fluent in japanese and you're not a KZbinr with 331k suscribers? ^^
@Fate8622 жыл бұрын
I think I can answer these: -They are a little bit pricey but its like going to Disneyland or a Pokemon store, your paying abit of a high price but your getting the experience. It may be abit pricey but people still go for that experience like any attraction. So I wouldn't say they are scams. Everyone always says to at least go to one popular so you can experience it for yourself. So not its not a scam if people all suggest going to see at least once to see if its something you'd enjoy. -Yes they do serve some alcoholic beverages but of course noone in there is going to be ordering alot or getting drunk. They may order one beverage and that's about it, I've actually never seen a story or article of anyone at a maid cafe being drunk or liquor being a problem. But I think most people all order non-alcoholic drinks but even if its liquor there is no harm at all there for one drink. -Yes they are as friendly as they are in the video. Honestly almost every store you go to all the employees and people are all this friendly. Even the people on the street are this friendly if you perhaps interact with them for some reason. People in japan are very polite be it in the city or countryside. Of course its all up to the individual but when it comes to employees and customer service all places are like this to everyone and have some of the best customer service you'll ever see even if you don't even speak the language. That's why many love japan, always doing their best for customers. Japanese people are very friendly of course moreso when it comes to their jobs and attitudes towards customers as that's the most important to them to keep customers happy and coming back.

In the United States these cafe's would be somewhat labeled as a hostess clubs. given the current climate certain groups might not take to well to them. Due to mis-information and political and or social stigma. From what I can tell these hostess clubs the maid cafe's if properly run and maintained are really no different than themed tea shops, coffee shops, or small cafes or restruants in the US. They actually could do very well in the states or other countries. Problem is of course is social issues and mis-information.

I don't really understand where is this line. The Japanese are very afraid to offend someone or seem rude, often it comes to absurdity in completely simple things. But it was quite easy for them (the girl in the video) to just say "no" to the question "can she take off her mask?" Clearly and simply "no".

@@booshank2327 I notice the woman in black dress seems over 30, I don't think starting a new career path at her age is easy for anybody. It takes strong will and discipline.
