Kudo Takiri The girl that appears in that ad is the university's official mascot of sorts. Her name is Sono Uzumasa. She's not only appeared in ads for Kyoto Gakuen, but she also appeared on Kyoto area transport cards for a while, and she even has her own Twitter account (@kgu_sono) with over a thousand followers. She doesn't actually exist per se; they made her up for advertising purposes (much like Hatsune Miku and the other Vocaloids).

Well the vocaloids weren't made for advertising, they were made for singing. It is just that Miku is so popular and a star that she is sought out for comercials and ads.
