This was a DIY 200km audax around the Arakawa, Edogawa and Tonegawa rivers.
It was a great day for a long ride - warm, sunny, no wind.
Several large events happening along the river.
Total distance: 206km

Thanks Craig! It's hard to imagine the amount of work riders need to do just to qualify for PBP. Probably similar to 100 mile runners.

Awesome ride! The algorithm brought me here and what a coincidence! I planned exactly the same route on that day, but wasn't sure if the tone-sai part was fully open, so I turned around at sekiyado and went back the same way.

Hi Alex, thanks for watching! There always seems to be some closed sections on these cycle roads, but there's always a way to get round those sections. It's quite hard to plan ahead for everything. I hope you will try the route again!

What I really want to do is a multi-day ride, with hotel stops. Tokyo to Kyoto would be good, if I can find a quiet route, away from the main roads. Or maybe coast to coast, Pacific to Sea of Japan.

Thanks Niels! I'm not sure I'd call PBP an "ambition", more like an unreachable dream. Actually, I think I'd prefer to do some multi-day tours, stopping at a nice onsen every day.

On of the negatives of the ice cream stop at the Enomoto Dairy Farm is that it smells like a dairy farm and its cow exhaust.
