Cycling up a Tokyo river looking for wild mulberries - and then making jam

Tokyo Bike Ride - May 2024
I came across wild mulberry trees along the Arakawa River (in Saitama), so I went back, picked some and made some Mulberry Jam.
Exciting times...!

Almost as gloomy as London there! Not seen any mulberry here so will try and make some blackberry jam this year. Think mulberry and ginger jam might taste ok 👍🏻

That rain was from Typhoon number 1 - rainy season is just around the corner. Nice idea about combining the mulberries with ginger. The jam is quite similar to blackberry, so what goes with blackberries would also complement the mulberries. Although I'm not sure I could do it again...😅

@@janwilletts1986 Jan, I considered taking plastic gloves to pick the mulberries, but I thought, "no, it'll be fine" - big mistake...😅
