+TPLA:Terra Prime Light Armory, Have you heard of an ancient sword fighting marital art from Thailand called "Krabi Krabong"? I think it's a perfect example of how Jar Kai should be. What are your thoughts? Here is a link to a short Krabi Krabong video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/nqu6g6N-r6-fi8U

would be pretty neat to see a video on how to/tips on fighting mulitple opponents at the same time.

The key to crowd control is to attack first and put one opponent between you and the others. Using them as a shield and making it a one on one, one at a time.

What about using the reverse grip for the off-hand? There are a few times I have seen a wakizashi used with the reverse grip, while the dominant hand used a katana. I'm curious what you think the advantages or disadvantages of using 2 Shoto sized blades (~26 inches), with one a reversed grip would be?

The problem using the off hand weapon with reversed grip in a two short weapon vs one long weapon confrontation is that you're compounding your reach disadvantage and limiting your range of motion to the point where you have to move in even further to block or attack. In exchange you get faster cuts and blocks from off angles, but that only matters if you manage to get inside of your opponent's guard and if you've managed to do that then you already have the advantage regardless of the weapon's orientation because you have the shorter blade. In a one long one short system it's more practical, because you have the long weapon to control space and the short weapon is there for the occassional block or strike of opportunity (fighting dirty in fencing) but in Kendo it sounds r stupid because you aren't using a main hand thrusting weapon and you're opening up your bare hand to strikes with the blade reversed. If it were any good, Miyamoto Musashi would've done it - and he didn't.

Thank you Nonymous, saying using both weapons at once taking quite a bit of skill and coordination makes me feel MUCH better, with the difficulty I'm having trying to force myself to use dual wielding xp

In a different video, he did mention that before you try using two: get really good with one. Then get really good with your dominant hand. Then become more aware of where your hands are using either. Only then really try using two.

Yeah, I've been swordfighting for around 18 years, I'm well aware of that training tactic. The problem is, is because I was mostly self taught, I trained myself to mostly use a one handed style (right hand) so trying to force your non dominant hand to be as flexible and as coordinated as your main hand after that long training is.......well, difficult.

+sapherno11 But NOT impossible. Even I know that and I'm not a sword fighter.

Angela Roquemore Um...of course not? I never said it was Impossible, I said it was "difficult, and then I said it was hard in my first post, I never said training your non dominant hand to behave like your dominant IS Impossible

sapherno11 Sorry if it sounded like that's what I was implying.

can you do one base of exar kun. He fights with 1 bade,2 blade and double blade light saber. how hard would it to master this fighting style?

I love this sort of thing. It shows potential for dual wielding for real swords. It would be different though.
