I hope everybody limits there expectations. It is early access and it will be like acc early access. So just keep in mind it will not be perfect. Im def going to have realistic expectations and just enjoy the experience tbh. I do agree though, this works for kunos. It may not work for other brands. But kunos made it work and it should again. Havent failed us yet!

I hate to be the one that disagrees a bit but... @5:25 when Jardier says "a lot of people who play AC1 & ACC are looking forward to the online racing," I think he's only half right there. I agree that the people coming from ACC are looking for that, however I highly doubt the majority of current AC1 players are very interested in the online racing part. I think for many of those players, they are hoping it will be their "dream sim" that has been promised many times before but has never actually come to fruition. A good physics driving sim with a great single player campaign/career combined with an online feature where they could drive around the open world/career mode with their friends and cruise but I'm not so sure racing is specifically what AC1 players are looking for (Outside of Nordschleife track days). Surely AC1 players that were there for the racing have moved on to ACC or another updated racing sim. This is just an opinion though so don't beat me up too bad. I worry about the entire thing though because it sounds like Kunos is trying to do both, which has proven to be very difficult for so many devs who've tried it in the past. I feel like the best AC Evo we could possibly get, would be one that concentrates on one or the other. Not both. Even Microsoft can't seem to get that right. Personally I would be happy with either. I just fear they are stretching themselves too far. Fingers crossed they prove me wrong!

You'll find loads of people online freeroaming japanese highways with traffic and touge roads with no races involved. Also there is a large drifting community on AC, so yes, a lot of AC1 players will absolutely move to AC EVO if it scratches their niche itch.

Tend to agree with your point, there is this human issue that presumes that because you like one particular thing over another so does everybody else. I have always leaned more towards AC1 for the sheer collection of cars, tracks and open world single player experiences.

I'm personally tired of driving high downforce stiffly sprung GTs and prototypes and European cars in general tbh. All I want from ACE is bouncy muscle cars and a community to race them online. If they can do that then I will be happy personally. That's the main reason I'm still on iRacing, for the NASCAR stuff.

I got into the Assetto Corsa world with the Competizione this year and it completely changed how I view racing. The EVO Early Access releases exactly on my birthday next week, which I'm taking as a sign! :D

First build is for sure more to get first opinions i think, finding the smaller bugs you sometimes dont see in internal testing. So i think the more we go into the early access, we will be seeing some jumps in the quality of the game, and full release, like ACC, good chance it will be a good jump. I dont think player counts will be high doing the early access period, at least not in the start, but when Multiplayer comes out, good chance that will change. I already had a very positive impression on the game from the Expo, so i cant wait to just drive around and chill. What i'm worried about the most is performance, not that it was bad at the Expo, but if its an issue, good chance thats also a thing they will focus on, but lets see.

I'm excited for Evo, but with CSP / Pure, all the mods available for AC1, and having ACC with all the DLC, I don't see myself jumping on Evo early on. Between those two, I think I still have more than enough to keep me occupied until a full release.

We are not in the golden age of simracing, that was around 2017, with iRacing, Project CARS 2, AC1, rF2, R3E, AMS1 all coexisting and the first 3 were all popular. Nowadays only iRacing is really popular - the rest play only a small role.

I remember seeing Random Callsign Nordschlife track day stream after it had happened and was gutted that I couldn’t of joined but like you say AC can’t handle 100+ servers so I’d love for Kunos to have 100-200 player servers for Nordschlife (I’m not overly bothered about massive open world) id like to have a map that includes adenau and immediate surrounding area to give RP experience to do a couple of laps then go get some fuel drive into adenau then back to do more laps but it would need large servers and convincing Ai traffic including Ai cars on the ring that can move over for you to overtake etc.

Other people in racing games do nothing but ruin my experience. I spend hours and hours preparing and learning and practicing, and other people get in and care more about overtaking me than having a good race. Fuck multiplayer. I'm going to be doing free roam and just about nothing else.

I got ACC in v0.2 and EVO is starting with more than that, so I'm a happy simmer. I don't expect any miracles though, especially in the first few builds - I think those will be more about collecting crash reports from various PC configs and such, so those can be cleared up before moving to multiplayer.

The 1 car 1 track combo for AC was not the early access. It was the tech demo, which came out like 3/4 of a year before the early access I think. The early access had multiple cars and tracks at the beginning, with adding features and content overtime till 1.0 but ofcourse added features and content still after 1.0 . ACC started early access with 1 car 1 track

I only learned very recently that there will be no multiplayer for the first few weeks/months of the early access launch (and only 5 tracks). That kinda killed my hype for the launch in january as I think I'll get bored of that pretty quickly, so hopefully they add the multiplayer fairly soon

@SimQuips see I'm weird. I still run laps for hours on acc and my favorite part is just driving them. You can turn on ai I'm sure and stuff. But regardless the first few months should be about learning the tracks, cars and physics anyways. At least for me.

Also a lot of my concerns are about the performance of the game. Not about the game itself. I have a lot of faith in Kunos and what they can do. But not a lot of faith on how their games perform. Both AC and ACC were really heavy when they came out. But as you said if they want to really succeed with the Open World, the game HAS to perform very well. Or it will be really a bust! Let's just cross the fingers and see. But these are more long term thoughts. For the first release I just hope I will like how it feels. Because as you said, me too, I will play it for a week or so, then I NEED to race with people. Because also I have not faith in Kunos AI too lol.

Its not just about funding, Early Access allows the community to access an in-development build of the sim and provide continuous feedback to the Developer's. This is something that is under appreciated as having hundreds or thousands of people driving your sim and providing feedback is priceless for Developer's.

I think that the aim with Early Access is mostly to help with the fleshing out part - run the sim on variety of machines and variety of rigs (more than internal testing can provide), clean up and stabilize stuff before full release. I will be getting it on 16th, though I don't expect smooth sailing, especially in the beginning, but I did the same with ACC and that turned out fine :)

So, if the game is not complete, then it should be released as FREE / TRIAL. When complete, with all features, then add a price tag. Like with other sim race titles, they release DLC for more cash... before the game is complete. This practice should not be supported!

i said it before, but ACE should never really release... it should be in constante development with crowd found, imagine you enter the game and vote for what you want in the game, like karting, monster truck, troffy truck, bikes, map's etc... these are things that can never release becouse it cost to much to do, and the game will not generate enough revenue becouse of just it to justify, if they just try to develop some things, they will put their own team to develop it, just relocate the developers, but with crowd found the ideal would be side projects, but without compromising the main team. it really have the potential to be the end game. imagine this game with the same amount of cars as forza, with tracks that would never be in a normal game without crowd found, im Brazilian, so for me it would be insane to have a game with Brazilian tracks, like the old Interlagos and the old Jacarepaguá. the only way to justify having that is by crowd found, and if it never reach the amount they just send the money back.

Assetto Corsa launched as a tech demo in 2013 with one car and one track. In November of that year it launched into early access with 11 cars and 4 tracks. It didn't support online multiplayer until mid 2014 and didnt get a 1.0 release until October 2014, over 11 months after launch. Because of this release strategy, as we all know, the game was dead on arrival, and everyone hates it to this day

AC Evo has to compete with Kunos' two previous titles, Iracing, AMS2, raceroom, and LeMans Ultimate. AC Evo is also likely going to make the fatal mistake of trying to cater to both the casual and competitive audiences, which literally never goes well.
