I love videos and seeing Finn brings a smile to my face. This Christmas is extremely hard for me as my father returned to Heavenly Father and to be with my mother, sister and brother and this Christmas I will be spending the holidays alone with my two cats and dad’s cat. Brett-don't worry about the cookies...we all have a bad dish...When we got our 1st microwave I made chicken, but didn't realize it was only supposed to cook 4-5 minutes & I set it for 45 minutes. It burned to a crisp. We lived in the desert & put it outside & even the wild animals wouldn't touch it....that a funny memory for us from 40 yrs ago.

I’m sure the popcorn is super yummy, made it before after Mona made it. I think you over did your brown sugar though, you were thinking your butter was 1 cup per cube & it is really 1/2 C so 2 cups total & then you did 4 cups brown sugar. Anything with butter, brown sugar & marshmallows with popcorn can’t go wrong!!! Such a fun video!!! Merry Christmas!!!

Oh my goodness, we go all out for our Christmas dinner. We have turkey ham sweet and sour meatballs, pierogies, cabbage rolls, mashed potatoes, stuffing, dilled carrots, buttered brussel sprouts corn gravy coleslaw buns. And then for dessert, we usually have an apple pie, pumpkin pie cheesecake, and ice cream

OK to answer your question what do we make for Christmas dinner? It’s been a tradition in my family we make turkey so we have turkey at Thanksgiving which our Thanksgiving is in October, usually around my birthday month there is a few times out of the years that my birthday falls right on Thanksgiving cause I was born October 10. One thing my mom used to make when she was alive during the Christmas holidays. You can look up the recipe and make it however which way you want, but she used to make nuts and bolts. I was going to make it, but I have to scale down the recipe because she would make a huge roasting pan of nuts and bolts just to have around to like snack on She’d make a Jell-O with a fruit cocktail. We just usually just normally do this Christmas. We did turkey mashed potatoes, sweet potato mash a vegetable. We do gravy dinner rolls and I had made just a simple box cake and just ice in it and decorated it with Christmas sprinkles. Sometimes won’t do like well I couldn’t find the holiday cereal to make the holiday rice crispy treats so we didn’t do that sometimes we’ll do brownies or we’ll just buy cupcakes already made. We don’t have any other family where we live to. You know share the tradition with I grew up where one year if one of my family members like my mom or my aunt or my grandma if they did Thanksgiving, the other dead Christmas and it would rotate so one year my Aunt would do Thanksgiving one year my mom would one year my grandma would and then someone else would do Christmas And the same thing. my husband‘s family lives about four hours away from where we live and they don’t usually do a whole big Thanksgiving as they used to. There is a big Christmas get together on the 24th but we have our own tradition now we celebrate December 24 now with our daughters boyfriend and that’s been like that since they’ve been together we’ve done the 24th together we exchange gifts have fun usually get takeout for dinner. The 25th we celebrate the five of us in the house. My daughter‘s boyfriend celebrates it with his family and then usually in the evening he’ll come back but the last few years our tradition has been after Christmas dinner we go look at Christmas lights it something that I’ve loved doing for as long as we’ve been doing it. As far as treats go, my mom used to make something called no bake cookies those shortbread cookies with the little Marchino cherries. I think that’s what they’re called. They’re in a jar that you buy there’s red ones and then there’s green ones so she would make these shortbread cookies and then just put them in the center Like the red and the green cherries. She would make something called Nanaimo bars. I don’t know if anything that I’m mentioning interest you google up the recipe and give it a try my husband‘s mom during Christmas time she used to make this. It’s like a meat pie. I wouldn’t say it’s like a tortilla, but it’s some kind of meat pie. She made that was delicious and she would make peanut butter bars she would do like devilled eggs, all that kind of stuff. My mom also used to have like on the table. She would have like cheese and crackers or pickles like those sweet round pickles. Well that’s all I can remember but anyways thanks for sharing and I’m glad that I was able to share this with you since you were asking the question and I’m gonna continue watching your video. No I did not know about that when I make microwave popcorn I try to pop all the kernels. One time I almost blew up the microwave trying to do that and I know you might find this kind of weird, but I do like a little burnt popcorn if it does burn I don’t mind it, but thanks for the tip Jared I had no idea.

I think you can fold the bags over to hold them open, to fill, and then pull the sides up after they’re filled, (with non caremeled fingers), and then you can tie the bags up. Are those the only ingredients? Could you, please give the steps so we’ll know how much to add, when, and when to turn the heat down to low? Thanks! Here in Philadelphia Pennsylvania at reading terminal market .The big thing is sticky bun where put the topping on the bottom of butter,brown surgar, honey,then you can put raisin or nuts, places your rolls on top and bake as soon as there done you flip them and the sauce run down. I bought some great reusable containers that are like canvas rectangular off Amazon. I just put like 2 or 3 in my Publix cart and put my food in those. Easy peasy to unload and put back after they ring me up. No plastic bags. I get asked all the time where I got them. I always grab one and run into Aldi. Never get a cart there because I know I’m just filling that container. I use them to take food etc to others houses etc.

Hey Jared and Brett, I am getting caught up here on some of your videos and I noticed that you Americans, no matter where you are in the states as far as I see from who I follow you guys still have plastic bags here where we live in Canada in Ontario. You have to bring your own bags or your own bins or you buy a bag that is reusable from the store if You don’t have one, but it’s good to always have them in your car or your van because then you’re not having to buy more we bought reusable bins that are amazing. We did have the collapsible ones but they broke so we got these other bins that comes with straps that you just carry Just like you would carry around the store like one of those store baskets, but they’re just a little bit bigger and sturdier and they’re easy to wash out. But anyways, I’m gonna continue on and watch what you guys got at the grocery store and what else you have to share?

Actually Jared butter is good for you! Especially the Irish or European butter! I eat butter everyday! Being a carnivore eating only salted beef, eggs , sugar free bacon and butter! Nothing else but for a snack I eat pork rinds in its own fat!!! Never felt better! All my extra weight is gone and off all my meds! It’s also good for male Testosterone levels!

Also to that's how we make Carmel corn. Love the gooey Carmel corn. This year my sister Amy and I lost our mom back in July 23rd of 2024. My grandson is a popcorn finatic so I got him a popcorn machine like you described for his 10th birthday. He is now 20, still lives on popcorn! That machine is still going, used almost daily!! Everyone thought that was a weird gift for a child! How long would a toy have lasted??? I tried to find that same maker but can't get the same one any more. By the way, Britt, did you say a butter stick was a cup? It is half cup! I did not know any of those popcorn hints from Jared.. Going to give them a try!

Britt, don't stir so much! Caramels and toffee's shouldn't be stirred very often. They need the rolling boil stage but not too hot. I know, it really is a learning process. Not everyone can do it all and it is fine!! MORE than fine!! I can cook and like to think I am good at it (LOL, I try anyway) but my strength really is with baking. I went to school for 2 years to a trade school for pastry and breads but that was MANY years ago. Interestingly enough, I don't have a big sweet tooth but love making things to share with family and friends year round. Apparently you are the opposite (kidding, sort of) but it is OK. You pinpointed your cinnamon rolls but your actual meals look incredible!! I mean to the point of wow!! Be proud and just have fun with the sweet treats. Practice makes perfect!
