As JNT would say, I'm delighted. Season 26 is one of my top 3 seasons. It's hard to choose a fave between GL, Fenric and Survival. I'm esp pleased that the set is including the Fenric VHS extended edition, as that's my favourite version and that alone guarantees my purchase!

I passed on season 23 and was going to pass on season 26 until you mentioned Ghost Light! The serial holds fond memories (I was studying Media Studies and English Literature at college) and evoked the fabled 'gothic horror' of Tom Baker's early era, where my timey-wimey adventure first began...

Honestly the extended edits always excite me, especially this “Workprint Cut” of Ghost Light. Bit disappointed there’s no new CGI effects for Survival.

One thing I love about these boxsets are the uniformity and deluxe-ness of them. They look beautiful on the shelf and I'm so glad they look so professional. They could easily have done that rubbish thing they often do with DVD files or the behind the scenes books where if you have all of them and line them up they make a picture of all the doctors in a row (if you get my meaning) but they just look so much nicer being these minimalist designs on the side. They just look so lovely!

Great analysis of the Season 26 boxset & mini reviews for each. To answer your question I don't everything does, there may be a couple mini features missing but the majority are! I'm really pleased this season has been chosen , its a shift change in terms of tone for classic who & my favourite story has to be the curse of fenric! Here is a list of missing extras on 3 of the Blu-ray releases. These are from the excellent avforums.com reviews who give an in-depth examination of picture & sound quality . Sadly they missed season 19 but I’m still hoping they will review 23. Season 12 So what is missing? Found on the previous DVD releases are a number of features not included on this Blu-ray set: Doctor Forever: Love & War - A 30 minute look at how Doctor Who was kept alive in a range of original novelisations after the end of the classic series in 1989. Scene Around Six - 7 minutes of compilation material of 1978 news items from BBC Belfast’s ‘Scene Around Six’ news show, featuring Tom Baker. The Dalek Tapes - A tragedy missing this one; a 50 minute documentary which looks at the history of the Daleks and covers all of their appearances in the original series. Season 10 So what’s missing? Actually, this time around, quite a lot. A number of features on previous DVD sets do not appear on this set, including: On Target with Ian Marter - Profile of the actor and author. This was moved to the Tom Baker first season collection, where it makes more sense thematically. The A-Z of Gadgets and Gizmos - Comical look through the various tools used by the Doctor. Mary Celeste - Discussion of maritime disappearances. Was Doctor Who Rubbish? - Robust defence of the series by fans. Girls Girls Girls - Trials and tribulations of being a 1970’s Who girl. Season 18 So What’s Missing? Actually, not a lot, The Boy with the Golden Star, is an interview with Matthew Waterhouse and K9 Stories is a series of 4 books meant for a younger audience.

Not true. Everything from the dvds is and will be on the blurays. It's a common worry and confusing and not to brag but take it from someone who only collects dvds and all the different styles and versions. Although some special features do get swaped over to more appropriate sets. Such as season 10s carnival of monsters dvd had a on traget with ian marter documentary that wasnt on the bluray s10 as it was moved to s12 the sontaran experiment bluray disc, or the boy with the golden star interview with Matthew waterhouse was on warriors gate dvd but isn't on the s18 set as it was moved to s19s earthshock and I've noticed things like tomorrows times and stripped for action are moved to that doctors final set like Tom's s18. So there just being moved to more fitting sets which is why the green deaths special edition dr forever about the return of doctor who in 2005 also wasnt on the s10 set so I imagine it will be placed on this set. So if you are selling your dvds its absolutely fine to do so, the only thing ever to not make it the sets are the odd photo from the photo gallery as the HD doesn't always support them but fear not as brand new photos from the archives have been added to replaced them. Love your content though just had to let you know.

The 7th Doctor is my favourite. Imo, season 25 and 26 are some of the best seasons in Doctor Who.

Well, season 25 and 26 are said to be the best of the 1980s. It is only season 24 which brings down Mccoy's era and as season 24 contributes nothing to his peak era(top 5 stories), his peak era isn't as strong as Peter Davison's, therefore, is generally ranked below Peter Davison because of season 24. If he had one more season he would have been the best of the 1980s.

A lot of the content for previous DVD released was made by independent production companies. So it might be excluded from a Blu-Ray release if (for example) Dominitemporal Productions had a contract with 2Entertain and BBC Studios doesn't have the benefit of that contract (or if that contract excluded additional releases).

In my opinion sylvesters finest season, after the camp awful first season his 2nd run was better, Ace was his best companion, had a backstory, the show became more of a character drama and Mcoys doctor was beginning to be more serious! Fenric is my personal favourite!! It echoes the fog, full circle!

A consistent, enjoyable, decently written (ok, Battlefield being the odd one out) Doctor Who Season for McCoy. You can't say that for the present incumbent filling the Doctor Who shoes. The Curse of Fenric for me. 100% classic Who all the way, and I even remember watching Curse on BBC1.

So excited about rewatching these classic episodes. The weakest for me is probably battlefield. I can't wait for the Fenric making of documentary as I've recently visited Lulworth Cove where both the episode and the doc were filmed! And I cant wait to rewatch Ghost Light in better quality with the added bits to try and fully understand this puzzle of an episode! So, I'm all round pretty excited!

@@jarnopp Wasnt tricky at all! The locations are exactly the same and I used the Doctor Who Locations Website. The place hasn't changed in 30 years, even down to a large rock on the beach that can still be seen today.

@@jarnopp Great. And funny to. I've been to the location many a time on holiday and never twigged it was where the story was filmed. Aswell as this, down the road is where the cave/ rock Skaro scenes were filmed in Destiny of the Daleks and The Underwater Menace. I'd visited that place so many times on holiday and never realised either. It's weird seeing a place you know very well with a new light!

Season 25 and 26 were the beginning of a new golden era for the show, which sadly never got to flourish to its fullest extent. Seasons 7, 14, 22, 25 and 26 are my favorite seasons, I think.

Jason Arnopp's Terrifying House Of Obsession That's what I'm worried about as well, the logo on the box, the booklet, the discs and menu have grown on me a bit but the gold logo with red crystals that's at the start up of every disc looks weird and out of place, really forced in, but the white and black versions of the logo actually look quite sleek, it's just going to be annoying if they release like 10 or more boxsets with this logo and then end up changing it again afterwards, it's really going to annoy me

Personally, I'm over the moon that this is the next, next boxset to be released; with the close Chistmas release making it even more exciting. Season 26 is in my top three Classic Who seasons, along with Troughton's Season 5 and Pertwee's Season 7. Unfortunately, it may be some while before they get a release. Despite that, it makes me anticipating this release further; as I am already counting down the days until one of my personal favourite stoies, Battlefield, comes home on Blu-ray.

I do love the McCoy era but i was hoping season 25 would have been first as i would love to Remembrance of the Daleks the happiness Patrol silver nemesis and the greatest show in the Galaxy in Blu Ray but im glad its season 26 as i love this season as well but for my favourite list for the McCoy era it will have to be season 25 season 26 and last season 24

@@jarnopp yeah it will be i do love silver nemesis its one of the best 80s cyberman stories well i think so not many people like this story but i have more love for Remembrance of the Daleks as it is one of the best dalek stories from the 80s cos I never liked revelation of the daleks as i found it to dark and Grimm in some places when Davros says he's been selling dead peoples family members to eat Remembrance of the Daleks is one of the best Dalek stories for me as it's not dark it seems like a funny story when you got two different dialect fractions fighting each other for the hand of omega which is a Timelord weapon what more do we need

@@jarnopp how long have you been a fan ive been watching the show all my life im 23 and i remember watching the tv movie back in 1999 when it was re shown on new years day that was my first introduction to Doctor Who over the years i had vhs then my dad starting getting the dvds back in 2002 onwards im.getting these fantastic Blu-ray sets i do love these seasons i really hope next year we get season's 16 25 7 and 20 what seasons do you hope we get for next year?
