the bed folding to one side, allowing, theoretically, to extend the galley's worktop to the very end of the van is really critical in a short base such as the 144 chassis. hugely space saving and making electrics and plumbing super accessible 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

Those tires look unable to spin around if they get the slightest bit of mud on them. They look way to big for the van.
@Jangolfin4 жыл бұрын
@@milcotto4153 Front tires looks like quite ok even with mud there, but true back tires might be slightly problematic even. On the other hand, that van might never get itself for that kind of terrain where it would be any danger with the mud... This may sound small but I wish it was shown how the bed comes down (6:20) and what the space looks like with the bed up where the floor is and if the bed comes down is one piece and if the cushions for the bed have segments? Perhaps there's ano ther video that shows this on their website or if they have a KZbin channel? also as a suggestion at the corner of the counter which is next to the two seats that go down, perhaps the kitchen countertop Corner could be more narrow at that spot or have an indentation so the corner doesn't come out like that so that when the two seats are upright a person can pass through diagonally without running into the two seats. finally as a suggestion the company needs to consider also having a different color scheme version of the van perhaps wheree more of the ceiling and walls are white - tbh I wouldn't initially consider this van bc the general dark look but with a more light color palette option and a tour where you get to seen the whole of the interior as one shot from back wall to front of van i would consider watchng the tou again to ponder if its livable. Right now im having to use my imagination to do that however it is something that a few good shots of the interior of the van could Remedy or even if there is a van life couple who would provide a tour of the van that they have been living in

@flip0x013 жыл бұрын
If the batteries are in a super low state of charge they might overheat the alternator during idle if you don’t have a dc-dc charger or 3-stage externally regulated alternator. Also, once the batteries cut-off the charge upon reaching 100% SOC, it could destroy the alternator due excess current that has nowhere to go.

How do you run a induction cook top and a electric water heater off a 2500 inverter? Is there a switch that only allows you to run one at a time? Or can you only use the water heater when hooked up to shore power?
@JarrodTocci3 жыл бұрын
Yes it's best to have a switch for most things in a van. The ability to turn off any product is key and you wouldn't run both at the same time.

This van is clean!! Love the tour. Silly question - If you want to go off grid for a while, is that enough battery?
@zzanatos20014 жыл бұрын
He only has two 45-watt solar panels charging two 120-amp hour batteries, but the batteries also charge from the alternator when the van is running. He also mentioned that he built another van for a customer that had more solar capacity and five batteries that gave it a total of 600 amp hours, and they were able to run air conditioning for 8+ hours. I love stuff that is overbuilt, so I would go for the 600 amp hour beast. The only drawback is that there would not be any room for a deck on the roof unless you bought heavy-duty solar panels that are safe to walk on.

So...whats up Jarrod, you are moving into a house? Did the comedy thing take off or are you making enough on KZbin to do it...I'm very curious bud.
@JarrodTocci4 жыл бұрын
KZbin is a love for me and I'll always share content and what I've learned with everyone. I make income in various ways. What's upsetting me with van life KZbin is there's SO MUCH misinformation out there. It's a lot of people that made the mistakes back when I first started out years ago but I never made content about my mistakes. And now people are taking what these others are saying as gold but there will be hard truths coming soon. In regards to a house, building a home, another van is still up in the air. I can tell you what I want but having money is a factor. I want to build a container home on a lake somewhere, BUT I also want a workshop space to build another van. I have some plans in mind and right now I'm just having things play out and I hope to have my ducks in a row soon. oh and comedy, it's sorta on hold for obvious reasons but my brother and I are now doing my podcast together! Hope to be back in stage full time this time next year
