The long awaited Gripen arrived in game last month and I have finally had a chance to make a video on it! Thank you so much for fate and stick for joining me in these fly outs and I hope you guys enjoy the video. This is an incredible aircraft that you could make a strong case is op right now in game.

One thing I love about the Gripen is that I was watching a video about it and an RAF pilot was talking about how the Typhoon pilots like to poke fun at the Gripen but then goes on to say that with the full electronics suite, the Gripen gets "uncomfortably close" before they're able to pick it up in war games.

There's that, and while it doesn't have the best thrust to weigh ratio it's really aerodynamic with a low drag permitting a high speed, it's *not* stealth and the cannards can definitely have quite a signature in some situations, but being small and being built with a low signature in mind also helps it get closer. Also, the low flying that Bo was doing is actually surprisingly common for the Swedish air force. Instead of promoting people to another location people there works for far longer and in the same location, getting *really* familiar with both the local terrain and the plane, and they're expected to work independently, without being given detailed orders from the ground... Leads to *excellent* pilots that can make the best of the local terrain, but also makes it harder to replace pilots in the case of losses (say due to sickness etc)

Yeah, top tier rn has what I call an Ace Combat meta, because to me it feels like Ace Combat if everyone was on the same level as whatever mute protagonist is running around singlehandedly winning wars in this universe. Anything with a good turn rate and a solid airframe has a good chance at doing well, especially with those 6 smokeless death sticks of doom

Yes, you did a video on the gripen! Its my favourite modern jet, along with the F22 :D Its badass how a country as small as sweden is able to do the insanely complex domestic R&D to make stuff like the viggen and gripen, with their own wind tunnels, radars, etc. The low speed aero research for the canards on the viggen was very innovative as an example :DD

The Gripen has been my favorite jet ever since I first started getting KZbin ads for it. (Not kidding, I used to get ads from Saab selling me on buying the Gripen for my air force. Believe it or not I do not own an air force..) Also, wow if they ever add an AWACS role, Fate would be incredible at it. He's super calm and good at delivering info cool and quickly. Wish I had squadmates like that lol

Well, you sort of do, your country owns one, and the state belongs to the citizenry. And while you don't make purchasing decisions yourself you *do* have voting rights. Of course ads about military purchasing decisions has less impact in countries without proportional representation then in countries with it, but even so you *do* have a impact.
