Burly shows that the woods aren’t always a safe place even for seasoned hunters, and Phil leaves a shindig early to get to a hunt - only to be left behind. Jase gives up the first bird jewelry of the season to a novice, but Missy’s praise of him in the grocery store soothes his ego. The guys explore the agony of Jesus on the night of his arrest, as well as multiple accounts of his confrontation with Judas in the garden of Gethsemane and at the last supper.
In this episode: Luke 22, verses 39-52; Matthew 28, verses 18-20; Matthew 26, verses 21-25; Mark 16, verse 16; Romans 15, verses 4-7

Love the show. From a small community in Indiana where I know the podcast has encouraged and helped a lot of people. Is there a way to search episodes by the book of the Bible that you are covering in the Podcast? For example what episodes covered the book of John? Sometimes I read something and wonder what thoughts the guys had on chapter in the Bible but can’t find it. Maybe there is a way to search it and I'm not smart enough to figure it out.

I love Phil & all the Robertson family, but baptism isn’t tied to salvation. No where in scripture does it say we aren’t saved until we get baptized. It’s out of obedience to Christ, but not mandatory. (See the thief on the cross). I wish you all would clarify that for new believers.

The Bible says repent and be baptized, numerous times in fact. The extenuating circumstances of some that find Jesus right before death should not be a model to go off of. See James Ch.2 and study what he says about faith and acts, acts don't get us saved, but acts do demonstrate our faith and salvation, and in doing so, help us live out the Great Commission given to us in Matthew 28, to create disciples. If you've accepted Christ, He has saved you but you cannot stop your journey there.
@osupride97
@osupride97 7 ай бұрын
@@jblimkemann true but repenting & baptism are not needed for salvation. Sure, we must continue to repent for our sins. We should get baptized out of obedience. BUT neither are necessary for salvation. But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith which we preach): that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.“ ‭‭Romans‬ ‭10‬:‭8‬-‭10‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ That’s it. That’s all we need to do and we are in with Jesus. We need to stop adding rules to His Word.

Read Acts 2:38....according to the apostle Peter, do you receive forgiveness of sins and the gift of the Holy Spirit BEFORE or AFTER baptism? About 3,000 people responded to this message that day (verse 41). They didn't wait, they didnt "schedule" a baptism.....they were cut to the heart by Peter's sermon, repented and were baptized. That day about 3,000 people received forgiveness of sins and the gift of the Holy Spirit. Read Acts 9:18-19.....what did Paul do immediately after receiving his sight back? He was baptized and THEN he went and ate. The man hadn't eaten in 3 days and baptism was so important he was baptized before eating. What about the Ethiopian Eunich? Read Acts 8:26-40....how important was baptism to the Eunich? He was baptized immediately....no waiting once he knew baptism was essential for his salvation. "Stop the chariot!" As Jase chuckled about 😊 There are other examples and other scriptures I could share from the New Testament, but you get the point 😊. Also, don't complicate things....keep it simple. The plan of salvation is simple. God wouldn't complicate this and he hasn't.....man has.

Calling Ducks…Making Men Just outside of West Monroe, Louisiana there’s a man sporting a long gray beard, black face paint, and lanyard full of calls. A shotgun in one hand, Bible in the other, the ducks and evil men will fall! The ducks become food for the table, while the men become baptized, Godly and able. The likes of him strikes fear in many that have so much to hide. If they only knew the love that he shares, their hearts would open wide. For Jesus came to save us all, yes, that covers us in every way. He cheated death and satan himself, in only 3-short days. So, never hold your head down in pity nor shame for all sin is forgiven when asked in Jesus, mighty name! -Alan Rothwell 01/2024

Guys- love your podcast and the study/preparation time you put in. Thank you! However, In My Opinion, you DO overemphasize baptism. The answer to the question, “Do you HAVE to be baptized?” is No! “Should you be baptized?” Yes! But, the thief in the Cross would respond, “NO! You do NOT have to be baptized!” Don’t add to God’s full, and free salvation, if you can help it! 👍😄

The question was asked in Acts chapter 2:37 from people who had seen Christ with their own eyes, "What shall we do?" Having seen Jesus themselves, they believed but were not saved. It was answered in Acts 2:38. "Let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of your sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit." I don't understand why anyone would argue with what the Bible says on an issue that has eternal importance. Every conversation in the book of Acts involves baptism. We should never tell anyone that belief, repentance, or baptism isn't necessary when the Bible clearly states that all are part of what is required to be saved.
