They call me Mr Nikon and the question I get asked the most is what gear do I use when I am on a film set.
So...
I had to ship my kit to my next film and thought it was a great opportunity to show you what’s in the photographer’s bag.
I did one of these around 15 years ago for the special features on the film ‘Aeon Flux’ and it’s way overdue for an update!
My buddy Scott organised with his buddy Wes to use his new studio Creative Focus Studios on the Gold Coast Australia to shoot a little vid, pack my gear and then have it picked up for shipping.
It’s pretty self-explanatory but I don’t use all this gear every day it’s broken down into HPRC hard cases for different scenarios like, general onset, blimp bags, camera rigs and safety equipment.
Some lenses I only use on a shoot once or twice while others are used every day and if you look at it there’s pretty much only a one body to a two lens ratio and on a massive action scene I can shoot 5 Nikons at a time with remotes and a practical camera so its not hard to get all this gear out.

Excellent run down Jasin. You are like a kid in a candy store going through your kit and your skateboard proves this. Love the Nikon branded Black Rapid strap - Maybe Ron could do a boxing kangaroo version. I'd get that for my D300 and or Nikon 1 V1 😁

Fantastic video mate. I shoot London Fashion Week backstage and I feel that the field of work I'm in is ideal to get me into film set photography. It is something I wanted to do for a long time. I also used to do extra work in films such as Tomb raider 1 back in the day. So you get an idea of how the industry kind of works. Mirror less gear I think the way forward and I'm about to upgrade. I love my primes but the new Canon RF 28-70 f2.0 will cover 3 prime's. All my lenses are L. Looking forward to seeing your other KZbin videos 🙌😃

Great video, what camera cubes are you using in your hard cases ?

I use HPRC but no cubes just dividers and bubble wrap. Sometimes clothes haha
