My husband is from China and has been here almost 7 years. I am Mexican and I have not been able to make him the dishes he loves. Thank you for sharing these wonderful videos, and for thoroughly explaining how to make them and the meaning. I will be surprising my husband & kiddos this Chinese New Years by making it all! I look forward to part 2. Another recipe I will be trying is the mooncake one! They look so beautiful and delicious!

The Lunar New Year Holiday can look different for each family depending on where they're from and how they choose to celebrate. For those who do, what's your favourite tradition? Mine is obviously making and eating all the food as a family😉

It has been a tough year, so everyone deserves a celebration. However, still be careful with the protection. Thank Jasma for cautiously preparing such a video integrating food with culture. As a new Chinese immigrant, I learn both the cooking and cultural heritage from you at the same time. :)

Is it okay to switch up traditional recipes ? I know if I do any changes to to my traditional foods I get a side eye. 😂😂.
@JasmaFusionCuisine3 жыл бұрын
Haha good question! To be honest, there's a balance you have to maintain where it doesn't defeat the entire purpose of the traditional dish or replace its most important components. I know that's kinda vague but my short answer is yes! Go for it! But just don't go too crazy where the food is no longer recognizable:)
@merius10003 жыл бұрын
@@JasmaFusionCuisine You Just gave me the best answer. 🤯. If it’s no longer recognizable then I went over board. Thank you so much. 💜. Better lay off on the exotic spices. 😂. They don’t go well with the tamales. 😂😂.
@leeendahoney3 жыл бұрын
You read my mind! I was searching for some dishes but coming with a twist to the traditional dishes. I noticed some of your food has white in it and apparently, in tradition Chinese culture, we're not suppose to serve any white items because white represents family death. My family doesn't follow it since we serve white rice for some people in the family who doesn't want to eat noodles or fried rice BUT just something I came across when I was doing my research.
@JasmaFusionCuisine3 жыл бұрын
Yes that is indeed a tradition since white is unlucky but it's not something my family has been following either. Hope you liked these recipes!
