This song hits you in a soft spot in an entirely different way if you have lived in places like those; no longer do now, and wish you had never left.

From MA. Went to OK some years ago and was blown away with the beauty of that region.

This song always brings me to tears, even ten years later. I moved from my little hometown in Oklahoma to Alaska at 20 for the military. This song came out when I was up there and I still feel that ‘longing for home’ feeling when I hear it today, even though I’m now back in my hometown. Crazy to think that someone would miss this “flyover state” while they are in The Last Frontier with its mountains and vast, beautiful wilderness. There’s just something about my home that I wouldn’t trade for anywhere else the world ♥️ Thanks for sharing your reaction. Really brought up some memories of an incredible experience in my life.

Ahh, it is my third! Such a great song. When I was younger (high school) like most kids all you can think about is getting out and away from your hometown or home state. I always thought I'll never stay in Oklahoma. Then when I was 25 I went on a 2-week training trip for work in upstate NY. By the time I touched down back in OK I thought, nope... this is home. I love to travel and see different parts of the country and the world, but at the end of it, I always want to come back to Oklahoma. I now even live within walking distance of my family (mom, grandparents, aunt, uncle) and I wouldn't change it for anything. Thanks for listening to another one of my requests!!

I really don’t care what anybody says, if I like a song from an artist, I’ll admit it. If I like many songs from an artist, I’m a fan. Whether that person is a scapegoat for a genre or not...huge fan of Aldean.

Miranda is from Lindale, TX. East of Dallas, (90 miles) not Amarillo (450 miles away) ( same distance from New Orleans to Dallas). Love your videos!

The panhandle of Texas where Amarillo is. It is considered fly over country

Amarillo is in the panhandle of Texas, which is essentially West Texas and as barren as the other states he mentioned. But, like you said, ingenuity is the cash crop of such places.

I have to keep pace with Hillary, so how about "Everything that glitters is not gold" by Dan Seals or "Wedding Song" by Charlie Robison and Natalie Maines.

Don, please do Jason’s Night Train. I think it’s the one song the shows his vocal range. Also, there are video’s of collaboration’s with Bob Segar from CMT Crossroads. They are magic together.

I have this cd and listen to it a lot Don - he has some voice and seems to be able to put a song over so well know matter what song it is - he is away up the Country ladder now and one of the best around I think - so true what he sings about the country folk and as you said they do so well for themselves although city slickers dont realise this - same over here too !! I like Hillary s songs so thanks Hillary - sitting here listening to you in the middle of a horrid storm - aye - nowt like Shetland for a good old hoolie !! thanks for another super one Don - have you listened to Eagles Hollywood Waltz yet? I know how busy you are so no hurry but lookin forward to what yu say about it - perhaps its too slow and drab for your good fast songs !!! - hey just slow down this once pal just for a good Shetland wifie !!!!!xx

Hey man... Another request. Lol Brent Cobb "King of Alabama". kzbin.info/www/bejne/h3S4l6SofdmBZtU He explains, but a portion the proceeds he makes off of this song go to help his friend's son. Also, he opened for Stapleton a little this summer, and they share the best producer in the biz... Dave Cobb.

As a Texan I feel like we aren't really a fly over state ,but also not really apart of any group of states. For instance I wouldn't consider myself a southerner or "from the south" I consider myself a Texan. We are our own thing lol

Texas is definitely a destination, but it's so big and centrally located, it can be a bunch of other things. The panhandle is definitely fly over while the south-east can be considered deep south. El paso is definitely part of the west/southwest. But Central Texas is its own thing.
