“You are big and you are strong, but you’re not nearly as angry as I am. So, I’m capable of really hurting you.” So much truth one simple statement.

Absolutely. This was one of the best scenes ever on that show. The amount of respect went a whole level higher then before for Jason Bateman. I have watched it 100 times over.

The thing is ‘Full House’ and ‘Growing Pains’ were more popular in the 80s, but ‘Hogan Family’ holds up better than those two!

This was such a great moment when David finally had his brothers back

I think they were all in the category of "Family oriented" sitcoms that defines '80s TV. Although the Hogan Family probably wasn't as popular as Full House, Growing Pains, Cosby Show, Family Ties, to name a few, I thought of it as a high second tier sitcom.

It’s so weird so many of us remember this scene! When younger Millennials and Gen Z kids talk about Jason Bateman on Netflix shows today, Gen Xers like me remember him as someone I wished was my teenaged big brother in the 80s and early 90s from shows like Silver Spoons and The Hogan Family,

His character David seemingly took pride in picking on his younger brothers, especially Mark, in true brotherly fashion. But when it came down to protecting them from a bully he stepped right up. I remember that batman line hitting its mark since the 1st Tim Burton Batman film came out relatively right around that time.
@trevorbarnhill3399 Жыл бұрын
Dave always picked on his brothers. But damn it, he always came through for Mark and Willie when they needed him the most. It shows how much he loves and cares about his siblings. And I know Dave was thinking that "I pick on them, but no one else damn well better mess with them."

Actually, her last name was Foster. Her name was Dana Foster, as she, Karen, and Mark went by the surname of their biological father. It was J.T., Al, and Brendan who went by the last name of Lambert.
