I don't really understand the intensity of the fan hatred for Larry; he didn't really do anything that bad, particularly not compared to a lot of the characters on the show, who are still loved anyway. He mined his fiancée's situation to get published, but then again, it hadn't been his idea, and he somewhat had Piper's blessing. He lied about Alex naming Piper, but he did so because he thought it would stop Piper obsessing about her. He had an affair with Polly, but he was broken up with Piper, who had cheated on him, and he did tell her- that was more of a betrayal of Pete than Piper. Bottom line is, Larry's fuckups all fall under relatable human parameters with motives that are easy to comprehend- everyone can understand being desperate for a job, feeling threatened by someone else in your partner's life, developing feelings for the person who was there for you most during a tough time. Most of the characters on the show have done things far worse than that, which had much more destructive effects on other people's lives. Larry is at worst just kind of annoying.

I don't not like Larry, but I do think its wrong for him to start dating Piper's best friend while she's in prison. And I think its wrong that Polly is dating her best friends fiancé, while she still has a newborn baby. And that she just dumped her other husband like that. I've been in that situation that piper is in ( not in prison) and it hurts, a lot. It's extremely depressing
