Hey Jason, glad to see a video again! I got a question. I got an email to come out for a tryout with the Orlando Scorpions (out of Jacksonville, FL though). Do you think that the money it costs to play a season with a team like them is worth it?

The Scorpions are heavily scouted. It's a good way to get exposure for college or getting drafted. Hopefully their fees are reasonable.

Where do you get your weight vests, and ankle weights for speed training. I need to work on my speed so I’m more likely to outplay our other outfielders and work on my pop time catching

Very cool. However, the Blast Motion bat sensor measures bat speed, not exit velo. I would assume some of the exit velocities were over 100mph, considering a couple of the hits went over 425ft.

The Blast Motion or Easton Power sensor. They are the exact same thing and can be found for about $50 on eBay. Don't get a used sensor to avoid any problems with setting up an account.

What made you decide to accept the deal when drafted and not go to college?

College is only a partial scholarship from year to year with no guarantees. Besides a decent signing bonus, the Orioles like some teams include a professional baseball scholarship that covers tuition and living allowances that add up to over 70K. It was an easy choice for us.

My experience with FTB couldn't have been better. They really give back and look out for their players and are highly scouted. One of the best organizations there is.

I used bands, but honestly long toss is what increased my velocity. If you decide to use bands, any decent bands will work.
