Gaslighting 1, reparations is lineage based is not race based. Gaslighting 2, just because they came after Civil War, doesn’t mean they did not benefit from white supremacist power structure. If the American government overthrew a government, they let them seek asylum and we pay for it. Yall making Jamaicans look bad out here.

I understand your point, but I think he means- implicitly and quite accurately- that Europeans, depending where they were from in the continent, were subject to discrimination from white Americans and were denied jobs and opportunities perhaps comparable to blacks- the same can be said of Asians, especially those in the Delta and other parts of the south as well as blacks who emigrated from the Caribbean and Africa (usually frowned upon by black Americans). So he’s not gaslighting, I don’t think, but feel he should- for future work- look at Baldwin’s “The Price of the Ticket,” as we all pay a different price for being American. I don’t know the polemical debates surrounding reparations, so I cannot speak to that. And I also think he’s looking at the issue from the position of an ethicist as he is a philosopher, which I would really like to know more of why iI’m reading his book What do White Americans Owe Black People.

@@pauletteoke6632 Jason Hill is gaslighting, and reframing American history to fit an anti Black American narrative. Reparations is a debt owed by the American government for slave labor, anti black hate crimes, genocides all across America, theft of land and resources and more. The reparations conversation is based on lineage. Not on race. It would be illegal to give reparations based on race and he knows that. Trying to frame the lineage of the American Negro as the same as any and everyone else that is opposed around the world is being intellectually dishonest. He wouldn’t dare fix his mouth to frame the holocaust that way in regards to Jews because he would be out of a job. When it comes to Asains, you can’t say Asains have been oppressed when they have a cast system right now in India. If anything the untouchable cast in India deserves reparations from the Indian government. Jason Hill is an Indian Jamaican that likely has Irish ancestors. He has no cultural historical or lineage based in the United States of America. But he is making a career by subverting justice for the American Negro on behalf of white institutions (the people who funds his books). The Indians worked with the Europeans to colonize and genocide indigenous Jamaicans. And now he is here talking about Black American history? He should be writing about what Indians and Whites owe indigenous Jamaicans Maroons and their lineage. How much of goofy corny lame hater do you have to be to make a career justifying white supremacy. But I guess when you consider his lineage, it makes sense. Don’t be a coward like him, grow a pair.
