This movie is fast paced and never lets up. There are no slow or weak spots. Whoever had to edit it together is the real MVP because they nailed it.

I’ve loved part 6 since the first time watching it back in the early 90’s on television. That was the only way I watched any of the Friday films at first. Part 6 has always been my favorite

I was 11 when VI was released. My folks couldn't afford at the time to take me to see it at the theater. So they bought me the novelization. I became obsessed with reading it, so obsessed that my grades dropped. My mom took it from me until my grades went back up. I would sneak into her room when she was at work and read a few chapters. I read it until I had to tape the cover back on. Years later, I bought another copy, and C. J. Graham autographed it. I also found Alice because of part VI(Alice is the king). Finally, in 2019, I was able to watch it on the big screen at a special showing with Thom Mathews. Lots of awesomeness with VI. There are so many memories. My first copy was from a SHOWTIME VHS recording a friend made me. I would set my tape player up and make cassette recordings of the movie so I could listen to it on my Walkman. Some kids had Batman or Spider-Man... I had Jason.😂

CJ Graham is such a nice guy. I met him at a convention in my home town as well as Darcy DeMoss. Also if you think about it there is absolutely no blood in this one. I'm pretty sure at all. But still a great movie.

I’d assume the gloves were just to save time. This was the first movie where Jason was undead. Looking at how much older Tommy is, Jason’s been rotting 7-8 years, so his hands would have to be as decomposed as everything else. Because of that, having Jason with the actor’s regular hands, they’d need to be made up to be rotten and gross, which could take hours. Or, just have him find some gloves.
@Adam-SB8 ай бұрын
@bobcobb3654: “This was the first movie where Jason was undead.”; no, this wasn’t; part IV was. Jason was pronounced dead at the beginning of the film and his body was sent to the morgue… and the rest is (bloody) history.

Just recently-ish found your channel and been binging lots of your horror reviews/rankings! Super glad one for part 6 is here! I first got into the horror genre at age 9 and shortly after I got OBSESSED with Friday the 13th, part of the reason being at the time i actually got the chance to talk to Betsy Palmer (rest in peace 💕) and still to this day it's the only celebrity encounter I've had in life (it's a bit of an odd story). But back to the point, going through all the films and loving most of them, Part 6 was easily a stand out. I loved that really fun and energetic tone, the characters, the kills, the SOUNDTRACK 🔥🤘 and it's been the one I've gone back to most since. Probably my 2nd favorite horror sequel behind Child's Play 2. Awesome review, man! Unless I just haven't found it and it's already been done, I'd love to hear your thoughts in a full on review like this for the original first film. Seems to be one of the only first films in a horror series that nobody ever has as their #1 but it's always been my favorite

My first experience with this movie was seeing the VHS in the video store when I was nine. I wasn't allowed to watch these movies because I got scared easily, but I would just look at the covers and read the back. The synposis on the back of the case completely hooked me. I finally saw it when I was a teenager, and it was every bit as great as I'd thought. It's not my favorite of the series, but it's definitely in the top tier. This completely works as a horror/comedy where A New Beginning failed, IMO.

Part 6 is alot of fun! Its moved up in my overall ranking more over the years. My favorite is part 3, 4 and then 6. I love the entire series. Honestly i think the best made is 4 overall. The direction is incredible in that one but 3 had a tone that i prefer and Richard Brookers Jason had a malice and creep factor that im not sure weve seen since. Love this series!!! Graham and Matthews are great people. Ive met them at conventions a few times and they are awesome! They love their fans and they made a great Friday movie!❤

@Jaykilljoy-tt9tt8 ай бұрын
Was always a top favorite. It's my #2 of the franchise. I love zombie "powerhouse" Jason, it's very late 80's. Alice Cooper is on the soundtrack. I love the whole "angry depressed youth" aspect of Jason in the movie. The kills are good especially the trailer scene. I like the comedy. The main characters are good. I like the look of Jason and the overall tone of the movie. My issue with part 6 is exactly as you said the casting of Tommy Jarvis. Now I love his role in Return of the living dead 1 and 2. But it is jarring to see him in the movie considering he looks very different, sounds very different, and acts very different then the two previous Tom Jarvises we've seen. And ya, i love the look of Jason coming out of the grave. The cobweb clinging to his clothes, etc. it looks really good. "This movie is jason back from the dead as a militant zombie" Exactly. He's holding a cemetary gate pole almost like a spear or rifle and at times even moves and acts like he's in the military. And ya, i also love the fact that we actually get kids at the camp. Nikki [Darcy Demoss]...I love her 80's hair. She wore it very well. My least watched Friday film is probably part 8 and X, excluding Freddy vs Jason and the remake because I've only watched the remake once and Freddy vs Jason I refuse to watch ever again, because why waste my time?! In my world Jason goes to hell, Freddy vs Jason, and the remake simply don't exist. The Friday film I've probably changed my mind most on would be part 1, 2, and 3. I've grown to love the first movie more and more. Part 2 was very high up on my list of favorites, but it's gone down, I use to also love part 3, but then it became one of my least favorites, but the last time I watched it in 2021 I loved it,

I LOVE this movie. I first saw it when I was in 4th grade. I had gone home from school early that day because I had an accident on the playground that day and I ended up with a mild concussion & at that time they told us that I had to stay awake for at least 2 hours after getting the concussion, and to keep me occupied for at least 2 hours so after we left the doctors office, my mom took me to the video store to pick out a movie to watch and I saw this movie and so my mom rented it for me and I loved every second of it and helped keep my mind off of the concussion (and headache) I was dealing with that day. This was way back in 1987 or so. This one is definitely in my top 3 favorite Friday the 13th movies.

As I've gotten older, Jason Lives has jumped The Final Chapter as my favorite. Those are the two that I saw in the theater when they came out. It's a shame all the gory stuff got cut way down. I love Thom Matthews in it and ROTLD. I was almost 14 when I saw TFC and was 16 when I saw Jason Lives. My one regret is not seeing A New Beginning in the theater.

Maybe the point is that fans loved it and has over the years. Theatrical run isn’t everything you know (home media)
@bobcobb36548 ай бұрын
It then went onto do gangbusters on video and got fans back on board after being disappointed on part 5. I know that in the age of social media, everyone is an armchair Daryl Zanuck, but a movie’s financial life goes beyond the theatrical run. Especially in the 80s and 90s.

@@bobcobb3654maybe but part 1 did the best of them all at the movies and on home video
@bobcobb36548 ай бұрын
@@MartinSmith156duh. Doesn’t Matter. Paramount didn’t keep making these movies because each one out grossed the last. They did it because they were all extremely cheap in Hollywood terms to make and were always profitable. After the lackluster reaction to part 5, part 6 was to see if they could get the fans back, and it succeeded.
