Can't wait for this Jason G :) ...given how long Jason M's list of bands and catalogue goes, I'm wondering if this will end up being a multiple chapter story. Still holding on to an original Dangerous Toys Clown (front)/"Sportin' A Woody'(back) concert tee from 1989 - maybe worn a couple of times. Was too young to go to the show but managed to snag one in my local resale rock shop - that existed at the time. The front art on the shirt was so well done, I could never fathom washing it so hardly ever got worn. May have to pull it out from its frame and throw it on for this interview.

What a great interview! Wow, that fucking clown was the shit!!! And I can draw too . I saw that cassette at a place called Pick N Save in Jacksonville Florida and I remember seeing that album cover and going who the fuck are these guys??? so I asked the clerk have you ever heard of a band called Dangerous Toys and he was like yeah they’re kind a like Aerosmith..🤷🏻♂️So I bought the cassette and wore that thing out. I introduced that cassette to a lot of my friends and they loved it so here’s me I find you guys played your music to all my friends and they loved it and now they want me to draw that clown on every fucking thing, some got tattoos on their arms I did poster boards in colored pencils of that clown still to this day. People ask me about Dangerous Toys clown, and I’m just a fan that found you in a Pic-N- Save store. Jason McMaster, what a cool guy. I saw them play in Orlando with Junkyard my buddy and I went to go see them and I’ll never forget. When Dangerous Toys came out, The guitar player came out and tripped on his cord and fell flat on his face, and he tries to stand up and you could see the stars and shit circling around his head, the band was like what the hell just happened great show though.🤡

I saw him a number of times with his act, American Dog when they prowled the scene in Columbus, OH in the 2000's. You see him pop up every now and then. I respectfully disagree. Yes the production isn't as good, but they really learned their lesson about breakdowns and applied it to the second album. The bridges on Gypsy, Sugar Leather, and especially On Top and Gunfigher make a very cool left turn that really gives those songs a creative energy. Other bands in their genre simply were not really doing that type of creativity as successfully. This band never really had any 'hits' per se, so I think the sophomore release has songs that are as strong as the first, while not being a retread by adding those cool breakdowns and slide guitar.
