You've got the best of both worlds You're the kind of girl who can take down a man, And lift him back up again You are strong but you're needy, Humble but you're greedy Based on your body language, Your shouted cursive I've been reading You're style is quite selective, Though your mind is rather reckless Well I guess it just suggests That this is just what happiness is Hey, what a beautiful mess this is It's like picking up trash in dresses Well it kind of hurts when the kind of words you write Kind of turn themselves into knives And don't mind my nerve you can call it fiction Cause I like being submerged in your contradictions dear Cause here we are, here we are Although you were biased I love your advice Your comebacks they're quick And probably have to do with your insecurities There's no shame in being crazy, Depending on how you take these Words that paraphrasing this relationship we're staging And it's a beautiful mess, yes it is It's like, we are picking up trash in dresses Well it kind of hurts when the kind of words you say Kind of turn themselves into blades And the kind and courteous is a life I've heard But it's nice to say that we played in the dirt Cause here, here we are, Here we are We're still here And what a beautiful mess this is It's like taking a guess when the only answer is yes And through timeless words in priceless pictures We'll fly like birds not of this earth And tides they turn and hearts disfigure But that's no concern when we're wounded together And we tore our dresses and stained our shirts But it's nice today, oh the wait was so worth it

I wanted this to be our song at our first dance on our wedding day.. it was already planned all along in my head. This was the first song he sent me to listen way waaay back, and the first song he played guitar for me. But life happened. It was a 6 year rollercoaster of our life. This song will always remind me of him, this song will always be one of my favorites. This song will always have a special place in my heart, like he was. I hope one day I can listen to this song without being emotional :) PS: After a year of two, I will go back in my comment here. Hope everything will be much more better then.

maaan!. am i your ex? haha. I'm just kidding. We have the same story. I played this song on our first date. for 5yrs of our relationship she always requested this song to play on guitar. I'm imagining shit like a wedding also to play this live for her. But shit happens. hahaha. and also this song is special to me for like 10yrs even before i have a GF. lol. PS: Everything will be alright. I know you can do it. 🫡

This is the BEST version! sO RAW so REAL so SINCERE! I really wished this is the way he sang it when he made the album. The voice is just that of a god. I love him! He is ultimately the best!!! I met Jason back in 2006... he is really sweet, we hugged and kissed and had pictures taken. I pray he wins the Grammy in 2008! He deserves it! Move over John Meyer!

I made the mistake of dedicating substantial time to learning this version of this song. It sounds great, but I come back and listen again and I am inspired… to sell my guitar. Just kidding, I won’t give up. But, seriously… here we watch a master at work, putting it all out there for us. Genuine and legendary.

He looks different now, only if you use your eyes. His heart plays a beauty and soul that you dont have to look at. Close your eyes and listen. Thats all. He is a heart that shines so greatly if you look too close you go blind. Such a soul.
