I've been to all seven Guitar Center locations within six hours of my house and they have the following guitars: 45% Gibson (of that 80% Les Pauls and 20% SGs), 40% Fender (of that 75% Strats and 25% Teles) and the remaining 15% is a hodge-podge of lower-end Ibanez, Schecter, and LTD guitars. Once in a wild blue moon they might get in a used PRS, Dean, etc. etc. but that's rare. Let me know how things are up north or out west. Cheers.

For those who are criticizing the tone, more than likely for Covid reasons Jason probably had to just record this with whatever Camera mic is picking it up. A lot of guitar reviews will run the sound through a mixer first and have it recorded on some kind of recording software where they can further refine the sound. I don’t think he got to do this for this interview otherwise you could probably pick up the more subtle frequencies.

probably because he's using DI. clarity takes a lot on 7 string and di is clarity death. unless youre dual tracking its probably going to sound a little muddy like that
@WRMCHNC4 жыл бұрын
@@tribbybueno What a load of internet nonsense. MANY low tuned / 7 / 8 string recordings are done with DI / Impulses etc. It's just a muddy horrible sound, funny how John Petrucci has the same muddy arsed tone from his musicman.... I'll agree it takes a lot to get a low tuned guitar to be clear, normally involves less gain, however dual or quad tracking will only add to the stereo width, and won't improve tightness, just your perception of how "big" it is which maybe more pleasing still doesn't indicate a better tone IMO.

That top is next level. I’ll stick to my tele and strat but the duality of this is amazing. Only downfall for me is the position of that pickup switch. I understand the benefits of it being right there but I've noticed he's constantly grazing or bumping it while down picking. That would get hella annoying to me and cause me to hate playing it. It's his signature so I'm sure he designed it to be there. If it was about an inch and a half forward I would definitely consider buying one.
@rmshredz4 жыл бұрын
I have the Sterling version of the guitar, and honestly I also thought the pickup switch location might be an issue but it's really not! even though it's not impossible, the angle you have to flip it is almost parallel to the strings so it makes it a bit difficult for you to accidentally toggle it... I've had more issues with Gibsons than this one, it's a great guitar
@ranajoyshil4 жыл бұрын
Tbh I really wish other guitar companies put the switch right there, it's a lot less movement to switch pickups
@moose11644 жыл бұрын
I mean Jason's plays almost making a fist he doesn't play with the other fingers straight it works for him. I don't play that way. When down picking I usually have a lot of movement in my wrist (very loose). I just know how I play I would constantly hit it. I do see the benefits of it right there but if it was about an inch and a half forward it would be perfect position for me. Everyone is different.

Something completely different. It’s a custom MusicMan bridge, the purpose and function is similar, but not the design. Floyd-Rose tremolos have locking nut as standard, whereas these tremolos don’t require that, still, they can hold tune amazingly from what I’ve heard. This bridge design has been taken from the Majesty Signature of John Petrucci. :)
